Just curious on what you guys went with for your canon, although I'm sure many will replay the game with different TW2 files.

EDIT : Label your spoilers if you're going to say any. Thanks dragonbird. :)

Iorveth, but I think you may need to come back and ask this when you've finished your playthrough. There's a lot more than the two options.

(And a warning for everyone else. No spoilers - OP hasn't finished the game yet).

There are too many choice with a lot of impact and I'm afraid it will be hard for CDPR to show them all in TW3.

Well i`ve got several saves to choose from on both paths. Not that it made a lot of differences in W2 from W1. But we`ll see. :P

There was a difference, but there will be a reckoning if they don't improve on it.

My first play will be Roche's path.

All desire to shirk,
Shall during off hours exhibit his powers
To Madame Tussaud's wax-work.

Actually, there's a conclusion to that in the new quest introduced with Enhanced Edition, in Act 3 on Iorveth's path.

I'll likely load Iorveth's path first, although I played both equally and I think both have interesting strengths and weaknesses. But it also depends on how much they make our previous decisions matter, if it's something similar to TW1 import, I just may not load any of my old savegames at all.

I'll use Iorveth's path. The elves can be annoying, but the dwarves are really wonderful, and I hate it that anybody wants to oppress them.

Saskia's choice of lovers makes a lot of sense to me; the dwarves' earthy joie de vivre is WAY more attractive than a bit of height. ;)
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

After I first finished Roche’s path I was certain that I was gonna use his. But now, after having finished Iorveth’s path as well I’m not so sure anymore. I am particularly annoyed by the fact that you don’t know anything about the fate of certain characters if you chose Roche’s part. Furthermore, I’ve got the strong suspicion that Iorveth’s path is the one that the developers secretly deem the “better” choice. Admittedly, that is only a feeling of mine and isn’t exactly obvious when you play the game but nevertheless it seems to me that you’d end up in a less fucked-up world in TW3 if you chose the Iorveth path (and a number of certain choices on that one).

I for one . . . Roche
although it depends on the consequences of your choices in the next game, but I like Roche's ending much more.

While I think you could be right about the developers secret preference, I'm not convinced that it will necessarily mean a better world in TW3. Those devs have a habit of screwing with us and doing the unexpected. :)

But regarding the "not knowing anything", if someone can't decide on which path to take the first time, I'm often tempted to recommend Roche Path first because of it. If they manage to avoid seeing spoilers, there must be a glorious WTF!!! moment when they do play Iorveth and find out.

I'll be going with my first playthrough since that's the honest, clean, most magical playthrough. I was acting on instinct and my principles rather than any utilitarian notion to maximize happiness for everyone in the game.

In case you wonder, my first playthrough was with Iorveth.

Cannot wait for TW3!! :D
Tearing my hair out, trying to figure out why there aren't any non-human Witchers, or at least something equivalent to a Witcher oriented warrior.

Share your Skyrim characters here! Feel free to post pictures, tell a story, or whatever! It's all about dem adventures boios!

Umm, I know that on Iorveth's path you

I'd love to experience all 16 paths, and see how each one affects TW3.. That would be so incredible. Alas, my life is too short for such epicness..

There are not "16 paths," that's really a number that CDPR tosses around. It's a decent average, but a more accurate breakdown of the major variables is here: The Witcher 2: All Major Choices - A Definitive Guide (And The "Best" Ending)

I think the doctor in flotsam only gives you a mutagen.

This, exactly. They just give you (a rather weak) mutagen and Geralt even makes a joke about it. Nothing will happen.
