The vanilla EE is totally unplayable for me due to the small text size that causes me eye strain and discomfort if I try to read it.

The text size mod file that worked with Vr2.0 no longer seems to work with the EE, so does anyone have any direct links to mod files that work with the EE?

Have tried comfy couch and some text is still way too small.

Failing this, if I go back to Vr 2.0, will I only be missing out on quests or will I be missing out on improvements to combat or game mechanics?

I think that Comfy Couch is probably the best that can be done. If you're still having problems, then you may need to stay with 2.0. The EE updates were mainly the two new quests and some new cutscenes. There was some minor tweaking in the game mechanics/combat, but nothing that stands out as a huge improvement.

You'll obviously know best about whether it's the text that's causing you eye strain/discomfort, but have you tried other things like turning off blur/DoF, changing screen resolution?
