Hello!
I wanted to ask a question about Iorweth's flute playing when Geralt first meets him. I asked myself why this song wasn't somehow included in the soundtrack and I found out, that it could be an old medieval song called "Stella Splendens".
Now to my question: I want to know if it really is "Stella Splendens" and if it is or not... Does a longer version of Iorweth's flute playing exist somewhere?

And out of curiosity: If it is "Stella Splendens", then why is Iorweth playing this special song?

Thank you all for your answers :)

It's a phrase from Stella Splendens, not even a full verse, but quite recognizable as such.

"Splendid star on the jagged mountain[1], where miracles shine like sunbeams[2], hear the people."

Maybe it was not actually chosen for the underlying text, but it is a suitable hymn for pilgrims and other wanderers nevertheless. The Scoia'tael could use a miracle or two or three.

Two very different performances of Stella Splendens:

Performers not identified, lonely and mysterious, suitable for Iorveth and his scouts hiding in the forest:

New London Consort, an unusual interpretation, very militant and martial, suitable for a brigade of Scoia'tael on the march:

[1]Montserrat, monte serrato, lit. "jagged mountain", an accurate description of Montserrat in Catalunya
[2]My license as translator, lit. "sunbeams that [are] miracles"
The amateur tenor, whose vocal villainies
All desire to shirk,
Shall during off hours exhibit his powers
To Madame Tussaud's wax-work.
[G&S, "A more humane Mikado"]

Don't we already have a thread on this? Well anyway, in the last thread people mentioned it was Stella Splendens or a variation of it.
Tearing my hair out, trying to figure out why there aren't any non-human Witchers, or at least something equivalent to a Witcher oriented warrior.

Share your Skyrim characters here! Feel free to post pictures, tell a story, or whatever! It's all about dem adventures boios!
