Hi,

I know that my computer is not the best system but was hoping it would be able to play this game on the lowest settings. I still get choppiness.

AMD Phenom II X4 830 processor 2.8ghz
4 gb RAM
Nvidia 9800 GT
Windows 7.

I tried runnin in window mode and 720 resolution, still is choppy.

This game doesn't run FPS-smooth to begin with. So it would be better to have some objective value of "choppiness" to be able to determine whether what you're seeing is within reasonable expectations or well below. What's your minimum frame rate, and how often does the game hit that minimum? A tool like "MSI Afterburner" will give you good measurements.

Also, be sure "Cinematic DOF" is not enabled, and your drivers are up to date.

Nothing wrong with your hardware. I've had the game working fine on medium settings, 1440x900 on similar hardware.

I have cinematic DOF disabled and everything on low. With afterburner, shows i have an average of about 18.

18 isn`t very good . Can you post a screenshot of your configurator settings ?

set texture downscaling to none . Also ensure that you`re not using any background programs that you don`t need running . Make an exception in your antivirus program for Witcher 2.

A 9800 GT should NOT have a problem with this game. It may be an old card, but it has adequate output processing for this game. Tommy's advice is good: texture downscaling to "None"; make sure you are not running things that interfere with the game.
