My game is stuck endlessly in the loading screen unless I cntrl alt del and right click the game and bring it back up and this doesn't always work(sometimes the game just exits). I'm running the game on high with an i5-2380P at 3.1ghz. I'm about 3 hours into the game and it still does this for every loading screen. Any fixes?

Did you install the game as administrator and are you running the game as admin ? What video card are you using ?

Yes I'm running it as admin and it is the Steam version of the game. I'm using a nvidia gt 560. I also have 8 GB of Ram and I'm on Windows 7 if that helps.

This may or may not help . In Steam>Library right click witcher 2 and select properties and in the General tab select create desktop shortcut , also verify game cache integrity in the local files tab . Then try running the game from the shortcut .

That didn't work, but I appreciate you responding. I have already verified the game cache twice when I first noticed the problem and everytime I've done it (two times) it said it had 1 problem and it would fix it, but I have no idea what that problem was/is.

It`s a long shot but navigate to your witcher 2 game directory and open the CookedPC folder then copy and paste a file to your desktop . For example the Troll.dzip file once you have it copied and pasted then delete it from the CookedPC folder . Then run another game cache integrity check . More than likely the failed check it keeps doing is for the .NET repair .

After the integrity check retry the game .

That didn't work either. Guess I'll just try to play it as it is since I can tell it's a great game.

You could try reinstalling the game or try the GOG backup copy .

I have heard of long loading times but that`s only for loading saves and not loading screens .
