Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

There is only so much they can do since the original assests were lost. I think they did a good job and for $20 it's cheap enough that I will buy it for some friends and myself.
Here is a full list of changes, a link to what bugs have been fixed and what mods have been incorporated into the game.

Indeed, i also belive they did a good job. I'm just sceptical towards new npcs,
and quests, cause i have a feeling writing will be bad. Also, i hope Sam Hulick
is really really good, cause original soundtrack by Michael Hoenig is my favorite
soundtrack, out of all games, and i hope Hulick will manage to blend in.

Ja sam ono čega nema
Ja sam ono što ti se sprema
Ja sam sudbina koja se ruga
Ja sam podli đavolji sluga
Ja sam istina koja je glupost
Ja sam budućnost
Da li ti se sviđam?

There have been a couple of previews of the music he has compose.

Looks pretty neat and I'm personally always excited for HD remakes of classic RPGs. I had played Baldurs gate but never got too far, I was more of a Icewind Dale fan, so this is a great opportunity to finish it in style
"Is the ability to do something not reason enough to do it?"

Oh, nice.
First one starts with original bg theme and blends quite good.
I guess he could pull it off after all.

I chose the option that fitted best with "Thoroughly underwhelmed".
Apart from a worse GUI design and the ability to zoom in and out, there aren't many noticeable changes. From what I've heard nothing has been done about the pathetic path-finding either, which was the only thing I hoped would be fixed. Other than this, it more or less looks like a modded BG1 original, so I fail to see why we should shell out $20 for it, when the original costs half of that on GOG, without sales. It will probably perform a bit better when there is lots of action on-screen, but honestly, I don't see why we should buy this at twice the price of the original. Don't like that they've added new content and NPCs either, it's bound to be worse than the original and fit like a square in a round hole.
The biggest positive is that BG gets more attention, and we can always hope more people try out the games.

So... you had some kind of performance issues with original BG?

Thing is, as someone on youtube already said, if this EE gets a lot of positive attention,
same team will probably move on with BG3, and that i would not like one bit.

No, I wouldn't say I have performance issues. The game works flawlessly. The only slight blib I've noticed is that the game responds slower when there are lots of effects on screen, typically from several magic missiles.
Wouldn't like a BG3 either. Simply don't think they can make it nearly as good as BG1 or BG2. Maybe this is harsh, but the whole project sounds like "cashing in" to me. If they do make BG3 and it turns out crap, it's bound to devalue the two classic games too, which would be a crying shame.

Honestly when I heard him first talk about BG3 I thought it was going to be like the Black Hound in that it's connection was in title only but then there was a recent interview where Trent Oster said the team was talking about where to pick off from. Granted he then said they stopped all talks about BG3 so they could focus on BGEE and BG2EE so by the time they actually finish both of those projects they could decide to just do in name only but who knows. Personally I want a Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition to happen at some point and I hope they do that after BG2EE.
Back on topic since I'm broke I can't get this at launch but I do hope to get it at some point. At least this way I'll know if any major problems happened.
