Low Texture Issue

Hi all,

I aware that this issue has been tackled before. However it is driving me crazy. I got the infamous "minimum requirements not met" problem. Which I fixed with the bypass shortcut everyone recommends.

The obvious downside is the inability to change the texture quality. Now I have tried virtually every fix I could fine. I couldn't try the SSOA fix because my NVIDIA Control Panel does not have the advanced options tab. Also I downloaded the Witcher Tweaker app., but I apparently cannot be used for W1:EE.

Please, any insight as to other fixes I could try would greatly be appreciated.

Does that laptop have Optimus technology ? Do you have the latest updates for your computer from the manufacturer ?

What screen resolution ? If full HD then try turning down the resolution .

With that set of hardware, you may in fact have Optimus and not know you do. Almost all recent notebooks with an Intel CPU and nVidia GPU have it. But it may not be announced on the spec sheet or a sticker.

With Optimus (try this if you have an nVidia GPU even if you're not sure you have Optimus):
If you go into the nVidia Control Panel, select "Manage 3D Settings", select the "Program Settings" tab, browse for the witcher.exe executable, set the "Preferred graphics" choice to "High-performance nVidia processor", and click "Apply".

Without Optimus, check for switchable graphics settings in your BIOS. (I can't tell you where to look, because every BIOS does this differently.) You want to force the BIOS to use the "Discrete graphics" setting (or similar words).

If you are successful with either of these steps, The Witcher will detect the nVidia GPU when it comes up, and it will allow itself to run at suitable settings.

Shall during off hours exhibit his powers
To Madame Tussaud's wax-work.

I tried initiating BIOS at the start up, but I was unable to find the option you mentioned. :(
