Back button does not bring up Journal panel

I tried and tried, it only brings up the Inventory panel and pressing it again after does nothing. Someone said, you can re map it in the control options butthere is no such menu item mappable. So fundamental and yet so broken. Please help. Thanks!

You're on PC, right? I've had the same problem and unfortunately this isn't something I've been able to resolve.
