Mike was such a badass, I loved him.
If only Walter could keep his ego in line. The Jesse, Mike, Heisenberg Triumvirate could have been something.
I love this show so much.

I have a Breaking Bad question.
I started watching it recently, and I can see that it's a series with a lot of potential, but I have this "thing" about story lines based on a steady spiral out of control (I'm sure this should have a genre name, but can't think what it is). It really makes me cringe, and I don't enjoy watching it.
So I've watched the first three episodes of season 1, and that seems to be what's happening here, but I don't honestly see how that could be maintained for multiple seasons. So I'm assuming that an equilibrium is reached and the nature of the story changes at some point. Can someone tell me roughly when this happens? I'd like to jump straight to that point, because I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy it.
(Incidentally, talking of playing catch-up with older series, I've also just started to watch Dexter and am REALLY enjoying it)

Well that's the thing, it's all a drawn out spiraling out of control. There is no one turning point I can point to and say "this is when he becomes Heisenberg." The closest point that could be seen as such is at the end of season 4.
I too did not believe they could sustain it for long, but they actually did for 4 seasons and a half.

Ouch. OK. I think I'll be giving up on this. It does seem to be a great series, and well made, but it's just a genre I don't like. Thanks and enjoy!

Just started watching Legend of the Seeker on Netflix. Not half bad, only had two seasons before cancellation but Sam Rami was one of the producers. Totally lightweight escapist fare. Its somewhat based on The Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind, which I keep meaning to get around to reading.

I enjoyed that series. As you say, it's good lightweight escapism and fairly well-made.
But don't let it influence whether or not you read the books - they're a LOT different.

Would have been interesting to see that triangle more going forward. Mike will be a sore miss
Watched a few more episodes of Community. Certainly not a love at first sight kind of deal, but maybe I can grow to like it, IF it isn't your typical sit com. Already not fond of the "guy wants girl, girl is hesitant" scenario that every god damn sit com use.
What other good series are there, that is a bit different or unique, and preferably with a rough world? The Witcher love really shines through here, doesn't it?

/>/>/> But he put it well in one of the last episodes (when will new ones come out??), when he said they had a great setup that took years to build up, before Walter tore it down, and that Walter was just a ticking time bomb. I suppose the way he tore it down was poetic in a sense..

Aaron Paul was saying on tweeter Breaking bad last episodes will start on July 14, date was later dismissed by amc. I would say july is a good bet though. Its a pity only 8 episodes left.
Speaking of Community, its starts as a guy want a girl kinda a show but its something that stays in background most of the time, certainly not a focus of the show, shows gets better as a time moves on. I would say its probably the best comedy in american tv atm.
Unfortunately, there isn't that many shows worth watching (at least comparable to breaking Bad), there are few enjoyable ones out there.

Long wait for Breaking Bad then
Will stick with Community then and hope it picks up. Only watched about 6 episodes so far. Don't think I've laughed yet though...
There really is an awful lot of dross on TV these days. Can't stand canned laughter, but at least Friends was funny. Saw some rerun episodes when I was home for Xmas, and it was still good.
Any idea when new Futurama episodes are out btw, is that a summer deal too? That show is great. Perhaps not quite Simpsons season 1-ish to 12-ish great, but bloody good.
I know many rave about Family Guy, but I don't like it much tbh. Too much ass humour and sideshows for my liking. Feels like every 30 seconds there is a break from the actual story with some looking back or whatever action. Has its good moments though, and Quagmire tends to crack me up.
Are there any good British shows atm? (that isn't called "The Office"). They've had some Golden ones in the past: Fawlty Towers, Mr Bean, Blackadder and of course Monty Python.

Try this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380136/, it's smart, funny and
really educational. Not for everybody i guess, but one of my UK favorites.

How recent? Misfits and The Thick Of It both had seasons recently. And isn't there supposed to be another season of The IT Crowd this year, or did that get scrapped?

Had another season of Red Dwarf (10th) on recently, in my opinion wasn't half as much kop as seasons 1-6, much better than 7&8 though.
I have waited many years for the Incline to begin. False prophets I have followed and obscure lore perused, but always there has been nought but the bitter taste of disappointment at the end of my travails. Still I do not give up, I do not falter with weariness. Even if it should never come to pass I will still believe and search, for the Incline is beautiful and it SHOULD exist.
