After reinstalling Witcher 1 Enhancer Ed., I get a Windows error message that windows encountered a problem and needs to close when I try to launch the game.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall a couple of times and the same problem occurs.

I have played this game on this computer for years without a problem. This started after I downloaded the patch...which I saw I didn't need. I deleted it but continue to have this problem.

Any ideas how to fix this issue?

At this point any and everything is in question . Try looking in your Windows>application logs to maybe find a better explanation or at least an error code .

Those files all pertain to DirectX . Try manually updating to the June 2010

I downloaded and installed Directx and still got a windows error.

My Catalyst control center told me this:

Going by the windows logs i would say that you have corrupt or invalid DirectX registry settings . Do you have other games that use DirectX on your XP unit and if so do they work ?

I have one other game and it works. I also have another one that stopped working and a reinstall isn't letting it load either. Any idea how I can fix this?
