I completed the "Wild Hunt" quest for the Hermit, and he offered me a choice of rewards. I chose the key to The Witcher's Hut (at last !! a hovel of my own) because the Hermit told me I could store things there (currently about 6 cart loads of rubbish). Well, I got into the Witcher's Hut, but I don't see anywhere to store anything. Is it a bug? Or is the old Hermit running some sort of scam for tax relief by claiming the property is now occupied?  ::)

I believe someone said the Witcher's Hut was the most worhless reward around...apparently you can't even meditate. But I'm not that far into the game yet, so I can't really say with 100% certainty.
*Pri - ma - archs!! Gotta catch em all!! Pri-ma-archs!!*

- Mortarion, I choose you!

It gets worse - had to go back to the Inn to stay for the night, now the Innkeeper has hiked the price from 5 Orens to 7 Orens. It's a local conspiracy I tell you !  :o

Yeah, I got gypped by that scam as well. Won't be falling for that on my second playthrough!  ;)

On a related topic, when you talk to the Hermit, he mentions the ghosts of the knights (the ones who are buried under the stone mounds) come out at night. I went there at midnight to find out, but didn't see them. Do they turn up at some point, though?

you should take the wreath of souls or what ever it is, to use for a quest you never get in your journal but get exp for completing with it.
if you remember in his dialog you can ask him what its for, and he says, you will find a use for it.

**/spoiler
its for finally getting Celina to pass over, you have to leave the fields once you have it, and re enter, she will start a dialog

There is a fireplace object in the hut, but it doesn't activate even with flints in the inventory. And the Hermit definitely says "you can store things in your hut" or words to that effect when he describes the rewards. So, I guess it is intended to be like your own "private inn" (meditate + store) but is currently bugged.

Hi all,

I had to try... a question for the Witcher's team, there are plans to improve the hut?
For what I read, you can't do nothing with it.

Thanks

There is a campfire just outside the hut door.

Why would you battle the Wild Hunt for a fireplace right outside the Hut, you can use it anyway.

There is a Giant Caterpillar repellent in the Hut though but you can neither meditate nor store things in it. I think it was quite useless, go for the wreath instead. And there are plenty of fireplaces all over the fields, in the meadow, at the lakeside, on the Island.

Everything as above but to me the hut is worthless because after chap4 you'll never see it again so...wtf? lol
Property is pretty much worthless in a scipted/staged kind of game like this.
In free form world (obl, Gothic) is idfferent

I just pîcked the hut...totally useless, would be better if there was a place where you could place your good and/or you could also see the wares you stored at the Inn's

I am so disappointed with the hut, I could see it being pretty neat, even if it's for a small part of the game. Utterly crap tho :(

Kind of disappointed that I can't go back to previous areas in the game. Would be nice to go back and visit now I'm a kickass Witcher!
A little bish, a bit of bash and a whole lotta BOSH!

A cruel joke by the devs, lol. I bet that most people choosing the hut expected an Oblivion-like dwelling with storage containers, usable shelves, and books that fall all over the floor when you walk past them.  ;D

Indeed.

At least my Witcher house will remain tidy... my house in Oblivion is probably the messiest in all of Tamriel. Every time I get some new shiny item I put it neatly on a shelf then if I leave the house and return it all jumps out all over the floor :-\

I expected a Morrowind-like house, much classier than Oblivion IMHO.

Luckily I saved my game before telling the hermit I did his quest, picked the hut, saw it sucked then reloaded :D
The difference between a circus and a brothel??

One is full of cunning stunts, the other......

I got the hut lastnight i dont know about you guys but I was able to use the fireplace to meditate in the hut, I do agree it's the crapiest reward. and for the inn if you talk to the wife and the daughter the price is 5 orens but the husband rents to you for 7.
