Hello,
I'm having a problem with the sephirot collecting quest, A Mysterious Tower. I got 9 of the sephirot and just found out that the one missing is the Maal'kad, which is the first sephirah that I should have gotten from the Cockatrice.
I killed the Cockatrice at the beginning of the chapter, and I'm mot sure that I searched its body to get the sephirah. I went back there and looked everywhere for its remains but I did not find anything.
How do I solve this problem? Please help! I'm already losing hope.

Are you sure that's the one you need? Siegfried prompts Geralt to search the cockatrice's corpse because Vincent pays well for trophies, so most players do search the cockatrice's body, even if they don't remember it. Did you get a sephirot stone from Raymond? If not, then that's the final stone you need.
If you DID get the stone from Raymond, then you can add the missing stone to your game using the Saved Game Editor.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

That's strange. I thought the game was set up such that players couldn't get the stone from Raymond until they had the other 9.

I also noticed that in the journal it says I need 2 more sephirot while I got 9, and they are a total of 10 sephirot. I guess there is a problem with the game.
Oh, that's a bad sign. If you're getting the stones out of order, and the journal doesn't know how many you actually have, something is probably wrong.
Can you restore from a saved game where the number of stones you have matches the number your journal thinks you have? Or if that's too far in the past, you could ask for a saved game from another player. Chapter 2 is so complicated that it's hard to find a saved game that's at exactly the place you are -- there are so many possible ways of doing things -- but you might be able to get a game from right before Geralt opens the tower or something.
I have a saved game from right after Geralt opens the tower here, but someone else might have one from right before opening the tower. (In my saved game, Geralt knows a particular secret. If you don't know that secret yet, then the game might not make as much sense as it could. Have you gotten into Vizima's Cemetery? Did you find anything interesting there? If not, you almost certainly want a different saved game.)

I will try the saved game editor and see what happens. Thank you.
Good luck! Let us know what happens.

I have a saved game where the number of the stones I have matches the ones in the journal, but it's too far in the past for me. I don't feel like doing it again.
As for the cemetery, yeah I went there and discovered the secret. I'm going to use your saved game but I'm not familiar with changing saved games. If you can tell me where to paste your file that'd be a great help. Sorry I'm not very familiar with PC games. Actually, The Witcher is the only game I'm playing on PC. I'm a console player.
I should mention that I bought the game off Steam, and I think they save my games on their cloud servers.
Thank you very much for helping me.

When you have the savegame downloaded and if it`s a zipped file which most are . Then you will need to extract or "unzip" it . Then copy and paste the save game into your Documents>The Witcher>saves .

I did it!! Now I can finally carry on with this excellent game.
Glad to hear that you're unstuck! Did you add the last stone using the Saved Game Editor, or did you download and install my saved game? If you added the last stone, did your journal update?

Can't thank you enough guys! You're lifesavers!
You're welcome! Tommy and I love The Witcher, and we like to make sure that other people get to enjoy it, too.

Steam stores the actual game on their cloud server, so you can uninstall it and retrieve it again from them. The saves are stored on your hard drive. If you ever uninstall Steam, all your games from them will be gone and you have to reinstall Steam and download them again. However, all your saves will still be on your hard drive. I found this out by accidentally uninstalling Steam.
