I was really enjoying the game, but seem to have hit a bug that is killing me with frustration. I was on Troll Trouble, and went to talk to Sile, and I get no option to do so at all. So I went to the tavern, and started the Kayran quest. Still, totally unable to interact with her. I even took out a sword and tried to kill her just to see if I could, and, nope. She reacts, but nothing happens.

Any advice? I'd hate to ditch the game for this, but I'm definitely not starting over from the beginning if that's what has to be done.

I think the game gets messed up if you get away from the "obvious" order at the start of Act I. Anyway, there is nothing you need to talk to Sile about during "Troll Trouble", so I don't understand why you'd expect to.

After the hanging, did you do something other than go immediately to the tavern and talk to Dandelion, Zoltan, and Triss until the alarm sounds and you're propelled into the Kayran quest (where you meet Sile for the first time)?

If you did, try going back to the hanging. After Dandelion and Zoltan are freed, go directly to the tavern and talk until the Kayran quest starts.
