I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before.

After defeating the Kayran, I was made aware of the fact that it was possible to loot it not only once, but twice. I then loaded up the auto-save that occurred just after the boss battle, but I was only able to loot it once still, to the right of where Sile is standing.

My question is, is looting the Kayran twice no longer an option (it was a bug), or am I just not looking in the correct spot? I have spent quite a lot of time looking around it, both to the left and right of Sile, even towards its tail and the boat, but have only found the one spot to loot.

Any and all replies are greatly appreciated!

Last time I played this (EE, dark mode, PC), the Kayran definitely dropped loot in two places (as it has before). The second place to loot is on the other side of a tentacle from where you and Sile are standing. The "sweet spot" for it is pretty small, and you have to walk around a bit to find it. But it is there; it has not been removed.

At one point, I thought they removed this, which would have bugged me since it would mean you couldn't make both the Kayran armor and the Kayran enhancement, but it turns out I was just slightly off and needed to walk a little bit.

I'm sorry to report back that I am still having difficulty finding the second spot.

Currently, when looting the Kayran, I receive two of each of the crafting / alchemy ingredients (eyes, tissue, and skin), and one trophy.

While this isn't a huge deal in the long run, it is somewhat annoying that I seem incapable of finding this elusive spot.

If someone were to be kind enough to defeat the Kayran again / load up the save just after beating it (what I currently have) and double-check for me, I would very much appreciate it.

If it helps, I am currently doing this on Insane mode.

I've done it with the current version, and both loot points were there. Guy's description of the location is correct.

Success!

After loading up the save file just before fighting the Kayran (the one the game provides), and defeating it once more, I managed to locate the second spot.

I loaded the save given after killing the Kayran, but only the first (easily found) spot appeared. This was the problem that I was encountering.

As to where I finally found the second spot: if you stand where Sile is and look at the Kayran, I went up along the right of the tentacle she is looking at, and just before reaching the end of it, if you look down at the ground, it should pop up (the "search" icon). The easier spot will be to your Geralt's right.

I think, once you've left the area, it will be gone. If you haven't finished Act I, going back is worth a try. If it's too late, you didn't miss anything important, anyway.
