Well I just started chapter 1 and am moving really slowly

I had too much weight so I dropped stuff so I could run again but that didn't work..

What do I do? Am I supposed to walk slowly?

Currently I just got off the ship and am walking really slowly with Triss and Roche

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

There is a run/walk toggle key. You'll have to exit the game and look it up in the launcher options under the "input settings" tab however, can't remember what the default key is.
I have waited many years for the Incline to begin. False prophets I have followed and obscure lore perused, but always there has been nought but the bitter taste of disappointment at the end of my travails. Still I do not give up, I do not falter with weariness. Even if it should never come to pass I will still believe and search, for the Incline is beautiful and it SHOULD exist.

There are a few moments in the game when you aren't able to run, no matter how much weight you are carrying with you. This is due to scripting and so on. One of these moments is that little walk through the forest. Geralt should be able to move normally after a certain scene.

In that scene, I believe you are forced to walk slowly while Roche and Triss are talking. You'll be able to speed up in a minute, once the action picks up.

It's a common problem to be overloaded at that point. If you were looting the dungeon while escaping, you probably picked up 80 pounds or so of heavy stuff. Then your inventory gets added back, there's more stuff to loot, and you can end up as much as 100 pounds overloaded.

I think this is how the run/walk controls work:

* On the keyboard, Shift changes mode so long as it's pressed; Caps Lock toggles between modes.

* In combat, you always run. Even if you're overloaded or in walk mode.

* In a few scenes, you always walk. This one is the one scene I'm sure of.

* I don't know what the corresponding controls on the Xbox controller are.

All desire to shirk,
Shall during off hours exhibit his powers
To Madame Tussaud's wax-work.

its not necessarily a bad thing. (hint) the only way geralt will get stronger, is by carrying a heavy load.

eventually though, you're going to want to go to the tavern & talk to the inn keeper, which can store some of your gear, so you dont have to just drop it wherever. it can then be recovered, at any other inn, all over the game world.

also seemingly useless things like timber, oil, etc. will come in handy for crafting or alchemy later on. also, almost everything geralt carries has some value, & can be sold for orens.

hope this helps.

take your time. theres alot to do, & you neednt race through the game, although you can if you really want to.

please, bring back the vs. flash game!

If it is your first playthrough your better walk instead running and enjoy of the views! Little details of Geralt's world worth it!

In chapter 1, I suggest putting up with it until you make it to Flotsam. You'll move just fine in combat, and it's worth lugging that stuff to town since it'll get you a decent amount of orens or crafting and/or alchemy materials.
