Alright, i know this is a dumb question, and im sorry if it isnt in the correct category, but i didnt really think it belonged in Quest and Story help, or in Tech support. How do i eat food that is in my inventory in The Witcher 1? Ive tried right clicking, like with potions, and tried dragging the potions to my character, but no matter what i do nothing happens...

Right clicking on the food or beverage should be all you have to do .

If you ever have trouble figuring out how to use something again, hover your cursor over it. You should get a pop-up that tells you what it is and how to use it.

For example, if I hover my cursor over some cheese in Geralt's inventory, the pop-up tells me to right-click to eat it:

No response from bachoman, yet, but I'd just like to add that if it still doesn't work, there could be a mod interfering. I also don't recall if you are supposed to be able to eat while in combat. Hmm...
