Finding the Blood Sword on Iorveth's path, Act II
12.08.2012 @ 17:39 #1
According to the entry on the witcher.wiki.com you can obtain the blood sword in the tunnel of the founders on Iorveth's path due to updates made in the enhanced edition: "in the Enhanced Edition, both paths can get it. If you side with Iorveth at the end of Chapter I, you can obtain the sword at any time before entering the cave with Saskia." However both the entrance in Vergan and the entrance in the Pontar Vally are locked, is it actually possible to get the blood sword on Iorveth's path and if so then how do I get it?

Well, I only play the Enhanced Edition on Xbox, and I find the sword on my first playthrough on Iorveth's Path. I just used the entrance on the right of the tavern (leaving it, in the low area), and this before Saskia being poisoned. If you is trying to enter the tunels by the entrance near the gate, that door only opens if you has saved the she-elf from Loredo, in the ending of chapter one - and I think, than only if you make sex with her - she give you the key after this.

damn. i saved the elf, ploughed her, & got the key, but never knew what it was for.
ironically enough, found it, completely on accident; during "symbol of hatred" quest, roaches path.
blood sword is pretty awesome. triple socketed too!

I play on the PC, and today I tried to find the Blood Sword in the tunnel of the founders (Iorveths Path), got the key from Mottle but it only unlocked a shortcut to the actual tunnel. ›››
I have never encountered the Blood Sword on Iorveth's path (PC), and I have given those tunnels at least three good scourings. Can anybody confirm that it is on console only?

I've encountered it once on Roche's path, playing on my computer. ›››
It's always there on Roche's path; the question pertains to Iorveth's path. Before the EE came out, it was never in the game on Iorveth's path.

Yeah I was looking for that sword on my most recent Iorveth playthrough and nope. No luck. I searched high and low for an entrance into those god forsaken fucking caves but nothing. I concluded that you simply cannot get the sword, despite the fact that I had EE installed. Maybe I missed it though I doubt it. I was thorough as hell. The previous playthrough was on Roches path and I found the sword there. Bloody amazing sword. Really wanted to find it on Iorveths path but I could not.
Maybe I fucked up, but 2 times on Iorveths path and I havent seen any indication that you can acquire it. My two cents anyway.

Tearing my hair out, trying to figure out why there aren't any non-human Witchers, or at least something equivalent to a Witcher oriented warrior.

You didn't miss it. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find it. At this point, I'm convinced it was only the Xbox version that has it on Iorveth's path. However, I don't know why something like this would be different between the two versions.

Well, as I have read somewhere, xbox version does not have the Operator' fight on Iorveth's path.
If I had to choose, I'd prefere the PC's version, fighting Operator is way better then having Blood Sword...
