I've killed Aep and got both keys. When I unlock the prison gate I can't interact with Triss at all. There is no name above her head and no matter where I stand it doesn't progress the quest. I've tried loading previous saves and redoing the quest and resetting my computer, but everytime I reach that point, it won't let me interact. I can't progress anymore. I've tried running other quests, but now all the doors are locked and i think this quest has to be cleared before i can move on. any ideas how to get this to work?

If you could upload your save somewhere and post a link to it i or some others could download and hopefully see what`s going on .

I had this a bit back, had to load a save from before I went down the steps to Triss' cell (finished off the men in the pool, just before the talk with Renuald) and walk through the door rather than run. I assume there's a trigger point at the door which I went through too fast when I ran in there, there was a little delay before the option came up but then it fired.

I loaded the save before the pool of guards and redid the mission from there as well as after the pool and killed all the guards including Aep. Neither way worked.

I used to have this problem with several NPCs.
Sometimes, I solved this issue downing a cat potion. Why don't you give cat potion a try.

just tried the cat potion. still not working. it did regenerate the barrels in the corner that I had blown up with Aard, but that's it.

I tried the first file (the quicksave) and got the same error as you did. I also tried the third (autosave_260) and got a really strange result - it was saying I needed to get the key from the body and rescue Triss, but I was in a completely different location (the cafe/bar where the dice players are). That save seems to be corrupt? The file size seemed small so I'm not sure if this is a corruption from your system or from the download.

Trying the second one in a few minutes...

yes, when selecting the quest, it still says i need to get the key and free Triss. But, in my inventory, I already have the key, and also, if you read the quest summary, at the end of it it even acknowledges that I have already gotten the key and for some reason says that "The sorceress was free --Finally!".

The manual save 250 i was able to talk to Triss . If you like i will replay it and save just before talking to Triss . Or i can email the save after talking to her ...you choose

Ok it will be a bit . I`ll replay and when walking up to triss if i see the talk icon i`ll back off and save , then send the save to your email .

I did happen upon a pretty nice sword though...Nilfgaardian Harpy . If i remember right it carried like a 46 damage with two slots for runes .

Could you explain what you did with shixblix's save?
Or you could do your magic with mine, if you please?
