So far, I've picked up The Binding of Isaac's DLC, TBoI: Wrath of the Lamb. I definitely recommend The Binding of Isaac to anyone who was a fan of the original Legend of Zelda on the NES. The game may be a bit twisted, but that doesn't subtract from how fun the game is. I've owned the game for quite some time (I got it in a Humble Bundle) and never got around to installing it until a few weeks ago. So far, I've put 53 hours (and counting!) into it.

Is it worth it? Yes.

PS, it's actually on sale now! Pick up the base game for $1.24 and the DLC for $0.74!

EDIT: Still not sure whether or not to buy The Binding of Isaac? There's a demo on Newgrounds!

Haven't picked up anything myself. I'm mad I missed the Trine 2 75% off sale! I'm mostly waiting for some strategy and rpgs to hit the flash or daily deals like Sins of a Solar Empire, Galactic Civ 2 or King's Bounty Platnium edition.

Grab them BOTH!! They are ultra fun, ultra difficult dungeon hack'n'slashes with stats. Thought TW2 was punishing and merciless? Muhahahaha!!

just look at this fight:

The story is kinda mawkish nonsense but it shouldn't detract you too much. One of the reasons I keep mocking combat in TW2 is that is resembles this game so much... but is dumbed down. Posted Image ›››

Heh yeah that does look kind of like The Witcher 2 at times.

So how many hours of gameplay would one get from these two at say, normal difficulty?
Facio, Voco, Ferre.

PC does not equal Windows. Personal computers run many different operating systems, like GNU/Linux and, why not, Windows. PC games should be available for all major platforms. Let's not be handcuffed and tied to one vendor. Utilize standard, cross-platform technologies!

I bought Space Marine lately and I can hardly play this lazy console port, controls and mouse sensivity are all over the fuckin place.

Hmm, one thing that seems to be a constant is that people who liked Fallout 3 hated NV, and vice versa. So now I'm thinking getting both may be a good idea. Leaning towards NV, although I have no idea why :S

I liked both FO3 and FO:NV, but then my Fallout experience is a bit unusual - FO3 was my very first Fallout title, then i dug out FO1 and 2 from an ancient game collection and fell in love with them, which now in my opinion makes FO:NV better than FO3, since it's a lot closer to the originals, lore-wise.

I can speak for Ys Origins as I've just grabbed Ys: The Oath in Felghana myself (though I played at friend's so I can safely say it's awesome). Ys origins can take you from 10 to 15 hours in one playthrough on normal. The milage varies depending on your twitch-based and puzzle solving skills. Even on normal those games are punishing - especially during boss encounters.

Remember that in Ys Origins you control one of three characters (one character is unlocked after two playthroughs) with completely different sets of skills and therefore completely different gameplay, so even though the plot is more or less the same the experience varies significantly.

One of the things I love about Ys series is the music:

Slightly over the top Rock-Orchestral but it fits the mood nicely. :)

Man I love Steam sales! Alice: Madness Returns, Alan Wake, and Blades of Time are all 75% off at the moment, I grabbed them along with Trine 2, From Dust and some Tropico 4 DLC and expansion Modern Times, all for $65. And I picked up Saints Row: The Third a couple of days ago for $15. (Note: 5:40 hours and 3:40 hours respectively until Alice and Alan Wake sale end...)

Anyone got any good suggestions? I've been waiting for a sale for a while lol... or keeping my eye out for one, I should say.

Bloody EA... I still want to pick up Alice: Madness Returns some time, but for some reason the default price on Steam is still 50 euros... meaning it's 12,50 in the SALES! That's it's normal street price and price on Origin currently! I swear EA must have told Steam they couldn't lower the price from 50... AND YES I'm way too cheap to buy it for almost 3 times the price I could get it in an Origin sale just to have the game on Steam.
Also, I'd really like to play the original first, and that one is free (?) or at least available on consoles and it was free with A:MR in the US for a while, but now it's just disappeared again... I don't want to download it illegally but if the only way to get it is to pay 70 euros on Amazon for a 2nd hand copy... well, yeah. GOG, get that game!

Any good co-op games... Think Dungeon Defenders, Portal 2, Trine 2, Terraria and so on.

I understand the original game on PC only comes if you buy the sequel from Origin. If you have a PS360, just grab a new copy and you'll get the original as a download. I've got a copy of the game from way back and also the new one on PS3 - you definitely want to play the original with a mouse rather than a gamepad.

Me, I grabbed the Half-Life bundle for $10. It's gotten to the stage where it's embarrasing to have not played HL2 Posted Image

Nope, that was a temporary US-only deal in the first weeks after or before release... which means they do have it on Origin, they just don't want to sell it, for some reason. Its really an EA thing, if something is really good they feel they have to ruin it (make it more 'accessible'!) and if they haven't ruined it they just forget about it... I don't know which is worse.

You just missed the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light sale, it's pretty fun in coop and it also has local coop which I find a bonus. Other than that, there's Magicka, which is probably the most fun coop game I've seen in a while... a pity none of my friends like it : (.
Personally, I think I'll buy some splinter cells when they're on sale, see if the coop of those games is any good.

Well since someone else mentioned Ys Origins I can tell you about The Oath in Felghana. It's about the same length as Origins but doesn't have the extra characters. Still they are both very much worth it and I would highly suggest getting them both.

I payed $30 for it and no complaints. The guys at FWH are awesome, same values and customer treatment that CDPR has. Free DLC, prompt patches and fixes, listens to the community. If I had more friends on Steam I'd gift the game - $3.75 is insanely cheap for such a good title.

We reached that point like 5 years ago when the Orange Box was first released. :P But good that you finally get around to it ;)

I only played Conviction's Coop mode in split-screen. We had a great time - but on the other hand I'm probably one of the biggest SC fanboy anyways, so I might not be the right one to judge it.

€3.37 default price throughout the entire Summer Sale. Wow! I wonder if I'm cheap enough to wait if it becomes a flash/daily deal and even cheaper. :hmmm: :P No. No, I'm not and I'll definitely pick it up some time during this sale - been watching it, but never had that last bit of motivation to get it.
