Using my mystical powers I have temporarily put Geralt's battle with the Stiga on hold. Why? I am thinking of tearing that monster up.

Way back when in the Outskirts, during the drama surrounding Abigal (hmm...Abigal, Alina, Adda, Alvin...) when Geralt, my Geralt was hunting Salamandra, he did't take too kindly to the Priest's child trafficking. Indeed, Geralt was not at all pleased to find children in the cave with those skin heads. Needless to say he perished shortly after.

Jumping to Berengar, my Geralt once again finds himself confronted with a Salamandra consort. Geralt didn't care about the lack of choice given to this man. Regardless of the circumstances aiding Salamadra made Beregar a part of an organisation who took kids in against their will, the very trauma that led this unfortunate witcher down his dark and bitter road. So, forgive me Beregar when I judge you. There are worse things then death my friend, something you no doubt learned when you so angerly attacked the mighty White Wolf.

Finally we return to Adda. Why should Adda be spared for allying with Salamandra and the others were not? What's different? Well for one the others didn't seek them out. It was more or less die or give us what we want(in which case Geralt end you...hmm...). Adda's participation was willing, a means to take her father's position. But does that make her a monster? Allying with baby snatchers that pump highly toxic experimental drugs into their tiny bodies? Did Adda even know that was what they were up too? Regardless, she certainly is a spoiled moron, a right and proper monarch willing to make allies with anyone so long was they prove the correct tool for the job. Radovid himself mentioned he was planning on using them.

So then I do believe Geralt will once again lift the curse. Glad you asked. After Geralt's little talk with The Grand Master (...Alvin...?...Maybe...?) and recalling the little scuffle DeWatt, Adda is nothing other than a means to eliminate Foltest so the Grand Master can do as he pleases. Monster? No. Just a damaged, manipulated little girl.

I apologize for the long winded post. The purpose of this was to maybe find out other peoples thoughts on Adda (love to hear them :D) , particularly if you had Geralt kill her--no--especially. Just thought I would put this out there since I couldn't find any discussions on the motives behind killing her/saving her.

What's different about Adda? She spent the first seven years of her life in a coma and the next seven years as a striga. Adda was cursed, through no fault of her own, and she never asked to be made a striga. She was FOURTEEN YEARS OLD before anyone even began to teach her how to be human. It's a wonder she can even talk, much less bathe, dress herself, and conform to the dictates of society.

Adda is not a nice woman, no question. But geeze, Louise, how good of a person would any of us be if we'd spent our formative years as a freaking striga? I'm willing to cut her a whole heck of a lot of slack on that account.

There used to be a very, very long thread discussing whether or not Adda was worth saving, but when they revamped the forum, they threw out a lot of old threads. I was sorry to see them go; a heck of a lot of people had contributed a heck of a lot of thoughts to those threads. I'm glad someone is still interested in this question, though, and is starting the discussion anew!

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.
