It depends on where you are, how much trouble you get into when guards change their patrol paths. In many cases guards are fairly isolated so you can take them out with a little patience. If you get detected in a high-traffic area like The Golden Cat, however, it can be a real pain.

I don't see a lot of difference between Dishonored and Thief II, to be honest. The strategies are a little different- shadow vs. cover, knockouts which are instantaneous vs. the timed chokehold- and Normal/ Easy in Dishonored is easier than anything in Thief. But that's why there are difficulty levels.

Will do :)
(First-time playthrough routine. Minimal help. Don't read walkthroughs. Turn off as much quest/mission-related guidance as possible, find the "Windowed" mode setting.)

Quick question on the retail DLC's - I'm assuming they're just unlock codes? It didn't seem to install anything when I activated them on Steam.

DLC pack coming up. 10 challenge maps for a whopping $5. That sounds like a hell of a deal to me. I'm all for supporting Arkane as well, a developer with the balls to try something different. Rumors are Dishonored is set to become a franchise, and I sincerely hope so. Hopefully they see fit to fully flesh out Corvo and more of the in-game lore. And I want to play as a deadly lady assassin. Mroowwwl. Posted Image

Apparently, Arkane said earlier they have no plans to do a another Dishonored. The rumors come from Bethesda (publisher), they may become slaves to that franchise as Bethesda will most likely call the shots. Its a great game though/ Wouldn't mind seeing sequel

I'm not so sure about a sequel, but I would like to see another game set in the same world.

Well they seem to be taking their sweet time with the DLC. I know in the Arkham games, the challenge maps were half the fun. And I love Arena in TW2. Broken as it is, it offers a ton of replay value. I really look forward to this.

I interpreted the devs' statements to mean they aren't going to have a sequel following directly on Dishonored. Corvo's story is done, at least as far as another game goes (I'm hoping the 3rd DLC will be more Corvo).

My money is on the next game being set on Serkonos. Corvo being Serkonese gives a natural segue, the place seems ripe for it since it has a reputation as being seedy, with natural beauty. And Harvey Smith went on vacation in Italy just before Dishonored came out. Looking for inspiration? :)

Quick bump to relay that GameFly has it on sale this weekend for $23.99.
Long time TES modder. When the tools are released, hopefully, a TW2 modder.
