As it says in the title what do I get if I side with Roche or Ivoreth?Right now I'm leaning towards Roche since he helped me out in the beginning, and also because my friend told me that Triss will die if I pick Ivoreth's path is that true?

Both paths have their good points. For first-timers, I'd say Iorveth. Roche's path is darker and more effective once you have gotten into the game. And your friend is either misinformed or pulling your leg; I'll not go deeper for fear of spoilers.

One tangible difference is that there is more XP to be had on Iorveth's path, and it is therefore easier to reach the maximum level.

Do you know which one will lead to a "happier" outcome for Geralt and the kingdom because it seems that Geralt will no doubt be called the king slayer if he sides with Ivoreth(rebel) instead of Roche which may help Geralt prove his innocence?

I don't want to go too far into details, because a lot of the details are really big spoilers. But the "happiest" ending, the way I see it, is on Iorveth's path.

Spoilers:

Either way, Geralt establishes his innocence. Either way, Triss survives. On Iorveth's path, Geralt helps Saskia and Iorveth establish a free state in the upper Pontar Valley.

It's a too hard choise... maybe Iorveth?

Neither choice is "good" or "bad", so just do what comes naturally to you, then play it again the other way. You won't be disappointed. In both cases, you'll probably be satisfied with the outcome, and then when you play it the other way you'll have some pleasant surprises.
