A Mysterious Tower - Broken Quest?

15.06.2012 @ 16:58 #1

I'm trying to finish the A Mysterious Tower quest and I'm on the Keth'aar part of it. It says I have to place all the Sepherot in the monoliths and enter the tower. I put all the Sepherot in the monoliths. Problem is when I enter the tower, nothing happens. I got the Mage's book, read it. I tried going back to Kalkstein, but there wasn't any new dialogue. Am I doing something wrong?

When you exit the tower, something should happen. You walk out of the tower, and nothing happens?

Do you have a previous save that's relatively close to where you are now? You could try starting from there. Sometimes Witcher saved games become glitched for no apparent reason, and a previous save fixes the problem.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Yeah, I walk out of the tower and nothing happens. I tried with my oldest save (not that much older) with no success. I guess I'll have to start over? :(

Well, you have three choices:

1. Start over.

2. Request a saved game that's from the same spot and continue on from there.

3. Upload your saved game somewhere (zip it first, please!) and send me the URL, and I'll look at it for you. If your game is glitched very badly, I won't be able to do anything, but if we just need to get the conversation to start, I might be able to make you a small fix that would trigger that.

Thanks for your help. I'll just start over. Great game so I don't have a problem with it.

It IS a great game, yes. I'm glad you're finding it so, too. Some people say that Chapter 1 is "slow," but personally, I loved Chapter 1.

This time, I recommend that you keep a saved game from at least the beginning, middle, and end of every chapter, so if you run into any more glitches, you won't lose your whole game.

Have fun!

Yeah be like me.....1200 saves already...RPGers learn the hard way...but do place 95% in another file to stop the game spending its time looking for a load

Yeah, I save the game pretty much every time a quest updates, anytime I enter a new area, before every conversation that I think might take an important turn ... experienced RPG'ers usually learn to save early and save often. :teeth:

And you're right, the game takes forever to load if you have a lot of saved games in your saves folder. But as you said, you can just move most of them out of that folder and stash them somewhere else.
