Title said pretty everything. We used to have a similar thread in the past forum.

Username - It is said that words contains power, and if you choose one to be your alternate name on internet, probably there is a reason for it. So name yours and what it means for you.

Avatars - Same reason. It's your mask, the face you choose to confront this alternate world. Why did you choose it and where it comes from?

So here's mine:

Secondchildren - it's a mistranslation from Japanese to Italian, of the "Second Child", which is the nickname of one of the protagonist of a famous 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. I could identify myself with this character pretty much at the time I chose it. Now things have changed a little, but everyone knows me as "secondchildren", and I'm too lazy to change it, so... ^^

my avatar - I don't like borrowing pics from internet, I think that my art better represent me. So I just take it from an artwork of mine. That one is specifically Lily's face. Lily is the trophy bruxa you have to kill in Chp V of W1 (in the Swamp Cemetary).

Your turn now!

My name: It's connected to The Witcher novels/games, but that's all I'm saying, it's a second to find out its meaning, so I won't spoil it.. ;)

My avatar: It's the protagonist of one of my favourite games: Planescape: Torment. (He is the Nameless One, if you are wondering.)
"You mistook the stars reflected in the surface of the lake at night for the heavens"

Now playing:
Planescape: Torment

Ny name: A dragon from World of Warcraft (yes WoW) who would transform into a badass gnome and was adorable.

My avatar: When I was creating the account I was playing an indie Japanese game Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale which is awesome and I thought it would look funny on the leaderboards here when I was ranked higher.

My name: it was a nickname I received when I was 8 years old from one of my classmates. Inspired by one of the more known bubble-gum brands which I have no idea if still exists. It stuck and everyone called me like that instead of my real name.

Also, I am too a NGE fan. So when my nickname is somewhere taken, I just add numbers 01 behind it. Or 02, 03, 04,...

My avatar: Welp, I am on Witcher forums, so I have my favourite character from Witcher universe, Regis, as avatar. Its that simple. Though everywhere else I use this as my avatar. Everyone keeps telling me that Kyon looks like me. Even my attitude and posture is kinda same most of the time.

Squall D. Leonhart - First and last words are the name of the main character of Final Fantasy VIII, my favourite game of all time. Instead, the "D." is from One Piece, a manga. I chose that nickname without thinking, when I registered first The Witcher game, few years ago (I didn't know what to chose and I never be in a forum until few time ago..). I thought many times to change it, but I decide to not change, because now some friends here know me whit that name :D Anyway, I like the sound and "Squall" mean storm (as calm water, I can become an impetuous current), instead "Leonhart" could mean temerarious (one of my weakness: brave, but too much).

my avatar - Vincent Valentine, from Final Fantasy VII. I like that character (I made even a cosplay). I chose the image because now I'm not home and I can't use one of my drawings. Maybe, when I'll can, I'll change it..

take that to the depths of forever,
and you still will barely have a glimpse
of what I'm talking about"

Pham - "Pham" because its the first part of my last name.

Hazama as my avatar, because I had the animated clap picture lying around. Plus I like Hazama as a character even though he is not my main.

I always beloved cats and feline world as magic and fantasy worlds. As I've like the special engilsh sound of he the word Wtcher (more before I've heard about The Witcher) First I joined Witcher with Cat, Witcat, but the result did not convince me, so I decided to mix one English word and a French word and got my particular Wichat.

And my avatar is also a 3D figure of my own creation (just morphing and mapping). And I've choose because I am proud to get to her face exactly the expression I wanted.

Intelligence, whether emotional or any otherwise, Posted Image or is social or is not intelligence

Please, PM me for correct my English mistakes, if you don't mind. TY

Once upon a time, I was looking for a username that had no prior association with me and that wouldn't link back to me in a google search. I looked up and saw a photograph on my wall showing baby dragons and hummingbirds supping nectar from a ginger flower. I didn't find out about other associations with the word until a lot later.

My avatar is my own artwork, and was simply to go with the name. An Eastern dragon with crow's wings.

Hmm...well "Lyc" is a vey shortened for of Lycanthrope, which is a of course is the fancy term for werewolf - a legendary creature I like, and have played a lot in RPGs. I am very much a dog/wolf person ( I loathe cats and yap-yap toy dogs). And of course my maternal great-grandfathers name was "Volk (Russian for wolf) doesn't help. ;)

As for the avatar image - it was simply one I liked enough ask the artist for permission to use. A crazy, dirty and dopey looking coyote (the archetype trickster) sums up my general posts on forums. :whatthe:

Back around 1999, I met a woman named Michele-Lee Phelan on a webhosting site. She helped me design my first website (now defunct) and invited me to a private forum for artists, but the catch was, we had to find a fictional name to represent ourselves. I chose Treasa, a minor dryad, protector of animals of the forest. (my site was originally geared for companion animal rescue)

My avatar is an original artwork of Ms Phelan's, made for me and worn proudly wherever I go.
In the beginning, there was a really great game we all wanted to play. We were patient, helpful towards one another until we figured out how to get it to work. If you haven't tried to kill the kikimore queen at 4 fps, you need to learn more patience.

etainne is the french bastardization of Ygrain, who was the mother who was raped and gave birth to King Arthur. She represents a connection to the earth, wisdom, and spirituality; a reverence to nature and cyclicity. I chose the french form because i have French blood and German blood in my family. I chose her because she is never really talked about in the legends but her role was crucial to the story- and overall I am a huge anglophile who loves stories about king Arthur, especially my personal favorite, 'the mists of Avalon' by Marion Zimmer Bradley. its a good read for the perspective of the women of the story, even if it is made up.
The avatar artwork is mine, i decided we never see male fairies - they are rarer than hens teeth, so i drew one for an art assignment years ago. this was my first drawing class so it is not very good, i never did get very good, but i still like the idea - larger version lower-
I have been etainne for over 16 years i figure online, probably not ever going to change it now. Same as Treasa, the moniker was created for that website for that Australian artist back before she was famous :P

Attached File(s)

mods I use are: Classic Dice set- ( sorry Dev's the new ones were beautiful but i couldn't read them)-Dark Magic Pants of the Elder Blood-Good Morning Geralt Face Lift ( thank you :) ) and Return of the White Wolf on a Win 7-64bit i3 4gb ram sad little ATI HD 3650 512 card and it all runs great at medium.

TheDawner is a random word thing I coined a while back when I reaaallly wanted to figure out a... less retarded sounding username back on Deviantart. Plus dawn is my favourite time of the day(even though I hate waking up early, welp)

As for Dawnermold and the avatar... well, uh...

KnightofPhoenix: My favorite mythological creature had always been the phoenix. The Knight comes from me playing DA:O at the time when I made a BSN account. There people started to refer to me as KoP and I liked the sound of it, so I kept it.

Avatar: Radovid, obviously. My favorite Northern monarch and the character I identify the most with (and apparently the one I look like).

Cory is my real first name, and Lea is my real middle name, so I smooshed them together to make Corylea. I suppose people could say it isn't very creative of me to use my real name, but I think of it more as being an indication of how honest and straightforward I am. I'm so dedicated to truth in real life that my parents should have named me "Verity," ;) and that's a name I could use for a forum name, but it's a popular one and usually taken. "Corylea" as a name is different but truthful, and since I'm a different but truthful person, it fits.

I use Shani as my avatar here and also on a couple of other gaming sites, though I use different avatars in some other places, notably Maxfield Parrish's "Ecstasy" painting. Shani is helpful, brave, caring, and strong, so I admire her. And at the time I joined the forum, I was a clinical psychologist, so I identified with her role of healer. (I still have my license to practice, but I make games now.) I may choose a different Shani pose someday, but I doubt that I'll ever change her for someone else, because I've been using her for so long that people expect her when they see me. I can think of worse people to be identified with. ;)
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Costin Moroianu: My name and middle name here, I've been using Costin as nickname on the internet since I was playing on it. I didn't much care for inventing a nickname.

Avatar: Roche, a blunt, hotheaded special forces commander but with a golden heart inside. Describes me perfectly.
