Well since they've announced PC from the start for DS2, maybe the next port will be better. But when it comes to Japanese devs and PC I take everything with a grain of salt. Capcom trolled the PC community for a year over SSF4, while planning the whole time to release it on PC. They were just being dicks for the sake of it.

my latest one I use for invasions. It'd probably be a memorable experience for newbie to see a large club wielding barbarian with egg head infection.

There's actually an attack with the egghead that let's you spew out some larvae that let's you infect another person with egghead. Fun stuff!

Anyone remember my SL1 playthrough attempt? Well, I decided to get back to that. Actually, I started from scratch with a new char, made some better choices regarding gear upgrades etc. And well...

I FUCKING DID IT



Beat the Four Kings at SL1, also became a Darkwraith for some Undead Burg invading fun (skipped the Taurus Demon with the master key via New Londo->Valley of Drakes->Darkroot especially for this) />

Ornstein & Smough are next, the rest should be easy.

sucks it doesn't work for me on Win 8, lot of problems and work arounds to get it even started! I might just as well wait for DS2

That's what I'm doing. It'll be a miracle if a Japanese dev outside of Capcom ever does a serviceable PC port.

Ornstein and Smough are DOWN at SL1. Actually managed to do it on the first try today, to think how many times I died to them on the previous SL1 run attempt...

Also, tip for easily and relatively quickly getting rid of the Royal Sentinels before summoning Solaire for the O&S fight:

DUNG PIES.

After beating the Silver Knight archer on the stairs, walk down the stairs just enough to get the first Sentinel's attention. Make him follow you up the stairs. As he's walking up the first set, he'll leave his back open. Toxify him with the feces and run back up - he'll start going back to his post and eventualy die (he WON'T use the healing spell). Repeat with the second Sentinel. Presto!

It's supposed to prioritize people in your GFWL friends list when summoning (and invading). Haven't checked it out yet, will try it later today.

Nice, I only managed to connect with a friend once. Hell I can't even connect with random people most of the time. I'll definitely have to try this out later.

I recently bought Dark Souls AND a controller to go with it. Playing on a mouse and keyboard just isn't a viable option. It's a game designed around the controller and I've chosen to give in. I've heard nothing but good things about the soul series so I'm really excited and I can't wait to play!

Yes, it's a shit port. Yes, it uses Games for Windows - Live. But I thought, fuck it. I've waited long enough. I want to support FromSoft for creating an amazing experience. Hopefully I won't regret it ^^ I hope FromSoft doesn't use GFWL and actually tries to create a port that's not entirely shit for Dark Souls 2. I'm pretty sure I'll buy that as well if it ends up being the case.
