I did the Blue Eyes quest and killed the vampires. Now when I went to the blacksmith hoping to sell off my wolf pelts they won't speak to me, saying something like I am not a friend to them. If I had not killed the lady of the night would that have changed?
When I did try it the other way and killed the brother at the quest completion I asked myself what kind of witcher was I for killing humans. It is kind of confusing. I know I had a friend named Regis as Dandelion told me that so I thought I was friendly to vamps. O(n the other hand I am a monster killer so what choice do I have?
****I have tracked back several hours of saved games to try and find the spot that this dislike for me by the dwarf blacksmith starts and I can't seem to do that. For now I guess I will give it up and move on. What to do with all these salamander badges and wolf pelts?
*** Sorry to keep adding confusion to this post. I now just talked to the order merchant and bought the upgraded armor from them. In the bank robbery I supported the elves and handled the negotiations solo. I talked to the elf at Vivaldi's now that he is safe. I am now thinking that the dwarf blacksmith was a one time conversation until I upgraded my sword?

Short answer: Usually, this is because you did Six Feet Under (Siegfried's quest in Act III) and didn't do Echoes of Yesterday (Yaevinn's quest in Act III), or if you did both, you did Echoes of Yesterday first, and Six Feet Under later.

BAsically, doing any choice pro Order and anti-Yaevinn\elves make the blacksmith's door shut for you. It happens even if you sided with Siegfried in the swamp, but at that time you still can regain the blacksmith trust siding with the elves again. Especially in Gold Rush quest.

I hope you didn't miss to give Morenn a wolf pelt?
There are several occasions to sell wolf pelts in Chapter IV and V
No one is interested in Salamandra batches anymore.
