I find the usage of terms like "monster" and "evil" to have no place in describing anything in the witcher games. ›››

I see your point, but I don't quite go along with it. The old "monsters" and "evil" that Geralt was trained to fight are vanishing, militant brotherhoods like the Order are better equipped to fight the few that remain, and "witcher" as a trade is either obsolete already or will be in a few years.

This does not mean, though, that the world has become free of these abominations. They wear different faces and pursue different goals. This is what Zoltan meant by his "progress is like a herd of pigs" speech and Bras of Ban Ard meant by the world "losing its virginity in a rape".

A man pursuing a plan he sees as honorable or progressive may be a monster just as a manticore would be, and his means and ends may be evil just as a striga preying on a village would be.

Thus, my Geralt rightly condemns de Weyze for his conventionally honorable and socially advantageous intent to marry off his sister, and dispatches him in self-defense when left no choice.

My stance through the whole game was a monster is what's inside, not outside -- that's why I saved Abigail, Vincent, etc. These vampires had done nothing wrong and were doing nothing wrong, yet Patrick was convinced they had put a spell on his sister and wanted to kill them, and he refused to listen to reason, so he was the monster here.

The vampires... Although I would ve prefered to just use the "Jedi mind-trick" we can resort to in Witcher 2 on Patrick (because it's not only Patrick the Scumbag, it's an entire group of soldiers you have to kill too).

My whole point is that after finding the truth of the matter, and promising to aid the vampires (letting them go) I couldnt in good conscience go back on my word... It's one of the few instances that the "neutral witcher path" seems wrong to me...
Still secret admirer of the Scoia'tael... women. :P

My Geralt alway chose the Vampires. At least they were willing to talk - Patrick came in looking for blood, and there was no reasoning with him. I wish you could side with the Vampires without sleeping with them though - my 'screw-em-all' Geralt doesn't mind, but 'tries-to-be-faithful' Geralt is kind of blindsided there.

Same as that talking Ghoul - no reason for Geralt to kill a sentient creature that doesn't seem to be harming anyone.

I've played through all the possible outcomes. Blue eyes demonstrates how carefully CDPR crafts their quests, as even the loot and XP you get is altered for each outcome. I side with the vampires.

I was neutral, killed them all in the end. Neutral was giving me the best XP points.
