[EDIT] Sorry, should have specified improved texture mods like witcherhirescharacters and twtexturmod.

Sorry if basic question, but I'm just now starting the Witcher series and I read through the newest pages of this board but need to confirm.

I have the EE edition of TW1 and I thought that meant it already had improved textures, so do the texture mods here add on top of those as well? Or are they what was finally added by the developers similar to Skyrim high texture pak?

Some of the threads made it sound like they were what modders came up with for TW1 initial release without EE.

Thanks

Texture mods work kind of like decks of cards you place on top of the other. If you think of the textures as the cards in a deck:
Vanilla game - you lay down an entire deck of cards on the table.
Mod - you lay down a card on top of another, and the card on top "wins"; that's the texture that's going to show in game.

Texture mods don't necessarily give you "improved" textures. It may be just small change that makes better sense within the context of the game. For example, I have a mod that makes Adda be naked after
, since it doesn't make sense to me to have a woman wearing a negligee after that experience. Or, for TW2, I have a mod that changes just the pins on Iorweth's clothing, because, as Yellow (a poster here) pointed out, it made no sense they all looked alike when they're supposed to come from different places.

Thanks for the reply,

Sorry I probably should have specified twtexturmod and witcherhirescharacters.

I understand how new textures work, I just want to confirm that these are still in addition to any that EE may have added.

yes they are an addition to the textures already in place . Be aware though that you will need a video card that has at east 1 GB of memory so that it doesn`t bog down your system .

Thanks, that was what I needed to know.

I'm running a 6970 right now so I'll see how much I can load.

Thanks again
