Just started the Rose of Remembrance quest and I have lost both swords or any additional weaponary, and the bandits that I run into just kill me with a couple of blows before I can get off enough magic.

Is this something wrong with the game?

Also if it is part of the game, any tips to pass the quest?

Are your swords in inventory, but not equipped? Or you had to give them up, but forgot to collect them? That happens sometimes, especially if you were last doing Fight Club.

This is not an intentional effect in this quest. Either you did something to unequip, leave behind, or sell your swords, or it's a major glitch.

I managed to defeat them by using AVII on them and then just attacking the last one, crude but it worked

Axii'ing bandits is fun, isn't it? But I'm still curious as to whether your swords just disappeared on their own, or you found a way to leave them behind.

What mission did you do before that. If you just finished the fight club mission with King Ziggy then you have to get your equipment out of the chest next to the entrance to Loredo's place.
