Unless I'm a total pillock, and please tell me if I am. The part where Triss is conversing with someone in the mirror and Alvin's fate isn't really clear.

Alvin and The Grandmaster's link is pretty solid. But there is no confirmation. Should it be left like that, or cleared up later on?

Triss' conversation with a sorceress. It's not clear who she is, but I'd guess it would be Eilheart. The whole 'out of control' business is part of the ;odge most probably, but then she says this:

I didn't mean to discourage you. Those (links) are after all "old" threads. Some topics fascinate so many people that they pop again after some time.

Those threads have some speculations and are hopefully usefull.
