Playing the PC non-steam EE from Gog. I just spent close to 30 minutes repeating the Kayren quicktime event.
After i found out the correct frequence of clicks needed (just spamming didn´t even fill the bar), i noticed it´s actually impossible to pass the event. The bar gets stuck at full and i´m not given the option to press space bar. I did it so many times that it really does seem like a bug.

I searched around and the most common fix people suggested was lowering the graphics settings. Problem is i´m already running on lowest spec.

My other option seems to be downloading someone else´s savestate. I´d prefer not to if there´s anything else i can try.

Regards,

Did you try 1280 x 720 and in windowed mode ?

Another alternative would be to upload your save somewhere and post a link here then some kind soul would download and get you past the Kayran and do the same for you .

You could also disable "Difficult QTEs" in the Options menu. Then you don't need to press space-bar to jump from the tentacle, Geralt does it by himself.

Where do i do that? O_O - That sounds like exactly the fix i need. I´m checking the options but i´m not finding it.

You didn´t troll me, did you? I passed the game on hard on 1st try, had no problem like this. Like the spacebar option just doesn´t show up, so i can´t get to the next phase.

From within the game -
Esc/Options/Gameplay/Difficult QTES

Huh, that's interesting. Out of curiosity: does this mean that this bug may connected to aspect ratio issues, or some drawing mistakes (meaning that the rendered picture is "outside" the display)?

No. For some reason, the game performs better generally on 16:9 ratio, which is why you often see this recommended as a permanent fix for people with a graphics card near or below minimum specs.

One common reason for QTE failure is a borderline graphics performance. Changing the aspect ratio is a quick way of improving performance for a one-off task, like this, without spending a lot of time tweaking values and then having to change them back again afterwards.
