MD5 and SHA1 Checksums for TW2EE

Regarding checksums - not all the users actually use checksums, providing them would confuse the majority. We do not want to suggest that learning about them and checking them is something people necessarily have to do, nor that we expect them to download programs for generating checksums etc.

So state that it isn't "something they necessarily have to do" and provide us more technically inclined a set of MD5's we can use to solve this at our own pace instead of wasting our time...

My problem isn't related to download quotas or anything like that, my problem is purely with the fact that it takes a significant amount of time, a non-refundable commodity, to do any kind of trouble shooting (Randomly downloading files until it works). Having a way to verify the integrity of each installation file would offer us a method that will significantly cut back on the amount of time wasted trying to resolve the problem as we could instead focus on specific installation files and identify when the download has succeeded instead of random guessing and hoping to be lucky (and even then it can take multiple attempts to successfully download a installation file and that means that you not only have to randomly guess the correct parts that are corrupt but also be lucky with the current download attempt of them being successful. Chances of you correctly guessing which parts are corrupted AND being lucky in your attempt to re-download it? Very, very low and the only way to test if the download succeeded is to run the installer and wait numerous minutes until it reaches or exceeds the point that it previously failed at.).
I agree that such information/procedures should not be pushed on to all users (Perhaps you could invest in a tool that automates the verification process?) as it will only confuse the technically challenged. However refusing to offer such a service just pisses off those that CAN make good use of the service.

Also, much like the poster above my time is extremely valuable to me and can not be refunded. So give us a fix or something here.

After downloading the TW2EE_Patch-2.bin for exactly 8 times, 5 times via the downloader a 3 times manually, the MD5 would always return error , I finally used a download manager and now the files TW2EE_Patch- 1 and 2.bin are passing the MD5 check.
There is however another one TW2EE_Patch-12.bin that isn't passing the test with a "Checksum didn't match error."
And Yes, I did read everything on the forums and downloaded the TW2EE_Patch-12.bin multiple times even with a download manager. This seems like a strange download issue so maybe someone knows more.

Mozilla didn't work as stated above for the files 1-2 . Antivirus is in check , I'm not a PC beginner, the problem is only with the file 12 now , even with a download manger that solved the problem of the previous files.
Posted only in hope that maybe someone will look into the file No.12 or something. This seems like a complete download corruption issue, so just wondering is it on my end or somewhere else.

this is very VERY aggravating

as Vinthir said earlier some files got updated, maybe they did them right after i got them, I don't know and I won't redownload 15gb again, until CDP (if ever) posts the good MD5s for the files they keep replacing without any notice we can't really help users with issues and the only option is Support: http://en.thewitcher.com/support/ -> scroll down to "Contact Us" and good luck.
for now just get them and try to install, if it fails it will roll-back, don't panic, don't uninstall the game, just do it like this:
*keep the error dialogue opened
*go to the download folder
*select all files
*select CUT ( CTRL-X ) and try to MOVE them in other folder on the same drive
*IF it says it can't move some files take note of their names and just skip them
*click Abort on the error dialogue so that the roll-back is done
*re-download ONLY the files you skipped earlier and replace them

1. They were updated, between 8:30 and 9:15 Pacific time (15:30 to 16:15 UTC) today. All of the files from TW2EE_Patch.exe and TW2EE_Patch-1.bin through TW2EE_Patch-35.bin were updated. Any checksums taken before that time will fail to match. Any downloads that were made during that time will be partly wrong.
2. The files that are at /ee_manual/ now, or at least as of an hour ago, are a usable and consistent patch set. If you install from them, you will get a successful patch with no errors. I used them to patch a pristine installation of TW2 2.0 (GOG edition) without errors.
3. The set of MD5 checksums below is the checksums of these known good files, as of 2:00 PM Pacific time (21:00 UTC) today.
4. (UPDATE) I also verified the files delivered by the Downloader. They now match the manually downloaded files. If you have pre-downloaded files, or files from an earlier run of the Downloader, you will probably have to throw them out and start over.
This applies only to the files TW2EE_Patch.exe and TW2EE_Patch-1.bin through TW2EE_Patch-35.bin. The "Voiceover" files have not changed, and you shouldn't have to re-download them.
It is important to note Vinthir's caution given earlier: the set of files may be changed at any time, and this will cause correct files to fail to match these checksums. So don't take checksum mismatches as an automatic indication that your files are wrong.
