I have found an old savegame where I followed the neutral part (if I remember correctly). The savegame starts at the beginning of Act 4 on the dike.
According to the witcher wikia Siegfried will most likely have to die by Geralts hand during the course of Act 4, but it's not very clear in that part. So I'm not sure if it's true.
Of course it's now difficult to backtrack every decision I made in this old savegame, the question is whether the final decision to either slay him or not can be made during the (hostile) encounter with him or not.
If it's too late for him I might as well start an all new game, since I already have a Scoia'tael-savegame where I sided with them elves and could need another where Siegfried lives for the Roche path.
Bottom line: In which cases do I have to kill Siegfried, and what action(s) give me the chance to spare him??

[Q]estion: How to spare Siegfried?

Are you in Act 4 or Act 5?
You must be firmly on the Order Path by the end of Act 4 to save him. Neutral Path will result in his death in Act 5.

I see. I guess I'm in...ehrm...act 5. After Murky Waters. Vizima is already burning and I'm arriving at the dyke.
Well, I could go back. Or I could, as said in the first post, simply replay the whole game. It's be some time before that anyway. ^^
Thanks for your info.

Cool, thank you. I'll have to think about using that or re-playing TW1 one day. I believe the latter has value in itself.
