I got mine. Got it downloaded. Got installed. But the patcher is not working, and the game play is a bit dodgy. Any ideas?? I do have a retail copy of he the first one, but I am really looking forward to playing EE. :-( ›››

The GOG version already has the EE in it no patching necessary . Not sure i understand about the "patcher" not working ?

Well, it keeps telling me that it cannot find my files. Also, the game play is really jerky, and the audio is not matching up. Also, navigation is all over. I cant seem to get him headed in the right direction. :-(

Help!

Do I need to install the Original, and then update it to EE with a patcher? :(

What keeps telling you that it can`t find the files ? If you downloaded the GOG version then it should be in the Documents>GOG.com Downloads . When clicking the setup it should then verify files and should take upwards of an hour to install completely .

If you did the previous procedure when installing did it invoke any errors ?

It installed great, and the mini movies run fantastic, but when I load a game and get past the menus, and the actual game starts, then the movement becomes jerky and audio is not matching the movement of the mouths. I have already cleared my HD and opened a bunch of memory, but it is still not acting correct. Also, the mouse clicks are delayed.

I dont know what else to do. :(

It's in the right program file, but the patcher tells me it cant find the files. The game also loads fine. I am just worried about the game play issue and thought it might be a patch issue.

Maybe list your system specs and we can go from there .

Ok try setting the specs to low and in windowed mode with a resolution of 1280 x 720 . The graphics card is a bit weak which is why i recommended the settings . Then retry the game .

I just got my copy of "The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings - Version 2.0" in the mail. I bought it from play.com on April 26th (they were out of stock and I had to wait 10 days for restock and 7 for delivery because I'm in Spain)

It came with no CD Key so I went to http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/ and, using the form, sent a picture of the requested information plus the receipt and game box.

Now the thing is the page says the promo ends May 17th and it takes up to 72 hours to process the request.

So if a moderator reads this and can make sure I get a key in time so as to not be left out without the backup copy I would be grateful.

Thanks

Follow the link to claim your cd-key and backup copy
http://www.gog.com/en/witcher2/backup/
Look to the right side of the page for the link needed . You will need to submit a proof of purchase like an email showing you purchased the game or go to EB Games and print a receipt of purchase .

Uhh, yes please.

There are several good reasons why Steam users are wanting this, and expecting it to happen, and there's already a fair amount of discussion going on in the Steam forums about how to get your CD-key. If "available to everyone" turns out to mean "available to everyone except Steam users", you guys had better gird your loins for a significant amount of fury. There's already enough people in the Steam community feeling that we're being treated as second-class customers because of the other issues. This could be the last straw. ›››

Same thing with Skyrim, bought a sealed copy from Asda, installed it via Steam only to be told the key was already in use on a different Steam account, i.e. someone elses. I couldn't be arsed with all the requirements you had to fulfil to get a "new" key from Steam so I returned it to Asda for a refund...

Wow. Old thread resurrected here. Anyway, Steam users did get the GoG backup, for both games, so it was a non-issue.

Is it still possible to get a CD-key? I submitted a request for a CD-key 4 days ago using http://www.thewitcher.com/backup/ but have not received any response (nothing in my email inbox or spam folder). Yesterday I sent an email to free_backup@cdprojektred.com since it had been over 3 days and I had not heard anything back, but I doubt that anyone is still checking that email if no one is checking the requests sent using the web form.

Edit: I just got a response from free_backup@cdprojektred.com that my request has been accepted and I should receive my code in a few hours.

Edit 2: Received my backup key and successfully redeemed it! :)
