I have explored every area in chapter 2 and 3 except this place. I also have talked to everyone and done every side quest. Only have quests left which I can't do until later chapters and ones that are finished during Unforgiven.
I am wondering if there is any reason to go and explore this place? Is there anything in there? Did I miss a quest that you have to do in there? I have the key and the letter but so far have gotten no information from anyone about going in there. What is the point of this place?

Hello. What loot is there? I basically have 7k gold right now and don't really need anything, already bought the armor upgrade. My alchemy sack has 50 of each major ingredient and I always carry 10 of each kind of potion (only the important ones like swallow, thunderbolt, blizzard, wives tear, tawny owl, white raffard decoction, cat). Are there any runes for silver swords in there, thats the only thing i need to upgrade at this point.

Then there's not much you need in there. Some expensive ingredients, some jewelry, lots of cultists to take your frustrations out on. If you need a diamond to romance the town clerk, there is always one here.

I think there was a quest planned for that area, but they decided not to do it after all, but the area (and a few other things like the letter to knight Eric) are still in the game. Completionists usually do the area, but it's not obligatory, if you're just interested in the main story line.
