Murky place by night (drew this as a background, but found it too dark to work with any of my drawings) >(

Started dabbling into 3D art with Sculptris and this is one of my first efforts. More shall hopefully follow.

Well I'm watching you and this thread, even if not talking :)

Pretty messy life lately, have had a few time to check the forum constantly, but I'm watching ;)

Aww, that's totally fine, I was just rambling to myself anyway >.< and I hope you're doing good IRL despite the mess. I've been kind of busy lately too, though I do come back here every day to PM with some people.

I have no idea how often Sculptris stopped working when I was working on this pic.. :realmad:

THIS THIS, Definitely THIS! Outstanding painting/sculpts, people who scoff at digital art be damned! (IE, Stubborn traditionalists/My Art teacher)

BTW, Sculptris is an amazing prog, especially since it's free, Pixologic is truly the CDPR of the digital art realm!

@Causa Ludi
How is Sculptris? I mean: is it easy to use? Intuitive?

Hey there! and thanks, that one wasn't actually a sculpt, but I totally agree, Sculptris is amazing. I must say I don't agree with the art purists on that one either, me personally i draw for fun and purely for outcome. if that means someone who doesnt know much more than to use a piece of software can make better looking stuff than someone who did their homework the "classic way" all their lives then so be it, and the rest of us need to get over it, times are changing, and the overwhelming majority of people dont care how its done, they care for what it looks like when it's finished.

Hey, I personally love the program, its totally easy to use and very intuitive, it does handle a bit awkwardly at first, but nothing that can't be straightened out with a bit of practice. the nice thing about it is that it pretty much pre-shades everything for you so only minor effort is needed to touch it up later, negative thing is it's extremely intensive and will overheat and crash often, unless you turn the detail on the sculpt down, in which cause your sculpt ends up cruder and not exactly the way you intended, havent found a workaround yet, but thats the only major drawback (if you want to call that a drawback at all) that i can think of.

the user interface is extremely simple and intuitive and a joy to use. :-) if you do give it a try, make sure to share your art, i'd be curious :-)
