Well that is good news. Though now that makes me think my idea of selling the Dark Edition I pre-ordered for cheaper might go wrong with bidding on ebay. Yep this is way to complex.

well, I guess it's good for CDPR, and so far, anything good that happened to CDPR turned out to be good for all of us as well.

Yaay I've managed to pre-order a Dark Edition!

I pre-ordered it back in january at Bol.com, a Dutch online store.

I also have the PC version of The Witcher 2, but I was never able to play it because my PC can't handle. :(

Anyway, before I'm going to start playing, I would like to know one thing:

The last time I've played The Witcher (Enhanced Edition) was back in 2010. I haven't played The Witcher after that so I forgot a lot of the first game. Will The Witcher 2 help me to remind me what happened in the first game? Will I be re-introduced to characters that I already met in The Witcher 1? And the whole story of The Witcher 1, will The Witcher 2 recap that for me?

In other words: Do I need to replay The Witcher 1 (Enhanced Edition) before I'm ready for The Witcher 2 or not?

Not really. Most of what happened in the 1st game isn't really touched on in the second (salamadra, Alvin ect) but it’s irrelevant to the 2nd games plot anyway. It’s a separate story for the most part and everything you need to know is explained. I don’t think you’ll have much trouble with the characters either.

That's great! I'm totally ready for The Witcher 2 then! I can't wait. After the whole Mass Effect 3 horrible ending and BioWare's bad PR managing fiasco (that left a bad taste in my mouth) I'm totally craving for a new RPG experience that will help me forget the Mass Effect 3 endings. I know The CD Projekt will deliver and I'm glad that they still care about their fans (unlike BioWare/EA).

The company that was meant to sell it in the UK has gone into administration though. meaning they won't be around to sell it.

If you guys are worried about GAME's problems and how it's going to affect Dark Edition distribution, maybe you should PM the devs directly (MM360 for example) and ask. I appealed a few times on the forums for them to make a statement on that, but no luck so far <_<
