So, it's DLC no more. It's gonna be GCI from now on. ›››

Hehe. It's just like when a corporation takes enough bad PR. They don't change their behaviour for the better - they just change their name. Like Blackwater did. Still the same collection of mercenary moral-lacking cunts, but under a new name now.

But I digress. It's both pathetic and funny at the same time that BioWare didn't call it DLC.

Regarding: "Since BioWare wants to screw people over who don't play multiplayer, I decided that save game editing is acceptable since there was no way in hell I would be able to get 4k Effective Military Strength. I got 3325 without any cheating." Pham

Hey Pham,

How do you doctor your save games?

There is a save game editor. Look for it in Google.

Great, now the new fashion in the gaming industry would be to cut the ending and sell it for 15 dollars later after receiving feedback from the community! :D

And the new fashion among savvy gamers will be to stop pre-ordering games and only buy them once the complete edition is out which contains all the DLC :P

Well, in Final Fantasy XIII-2 there is no any ending. As ending you have big cliff hanger and big "Too be continued". You HAVE to buy DLC to see ending.

If you crossed a car salesmen with a politician, you get Ray Muzyka. And there is no fixing the ending, cause that will just take more retconning. The crappy parts are there to stay. It's a done deal, everyone should move on.

I dont think the save editor would work as War assets are calculated by flags (aquired/not aquired) and the value of the flags in the Coalesced.bin is then added up. So just save editing would be overridden when it next calculates. You would need to upgrade some values in the coalesced.bin (5th fleet to 2000 or the like) using Gibbed.

Interestingly taking apart the asset values table it appears that it is not possible to get more than 7,520 war assets, (a maximum EMS of 3,760) in SP only.

I hate to admit it, because I really was a hardcore Mass Effect fan, but I really don't think Mass Effect is still my favorite RPG series of all time.

I really want to love Mass Effect, but I just can't stand BioWare. The way they're handeling things is just FUBAR.

In fact, I think that as soon as I get to play The Witcher 2: Dark Edition on my Xbox360 (my PC couldn't handle The Witcher 2), I'm going to forget about Mass Effect and BioWare.

I can't yet say if The Witcher is superior to Mass Effect, but I can say that The CD Projekt is gained a lot of respect in my book, while BioWare wasted all theirs.

Fuck BioWare, I'm done with them. Now I'm just waiting until I can finally play The Witcher 2 and forget about the whole Mass Effect shitstorm.

Basically the author analyses the plot and finds himself dumbfounded at the sheer number of idiotic decisions.

You edit the value of War Assets you already got. In my case, Wrex went from 30 to 9001. Its called a Save Game Editor, but it really is Gibbed.

You can also use Cheat Engine and set your Readiness Rating, but that table resets each time you start the game.

there is a mod which doubles your war assests (you can wasily get ~4000 with singleplayer) But beware as its considered cheating/piracy whatever as these stuff also contain the pre-order bonuses and risk you of getting banned if you play multiplayer

Maybe BioWare really is the "B" Ark, and a giant space goat is going to attack their world...

It reallt pains me as a hardcore Mass Effect fan to see your favorite francise go down like this. Mind you, I fully 100% agree with the article that you linked.

When Mass Effect first came out, I was super excited. I'm a fantasy fan, but I'm even more a sci-fi fan! I love sci-fi and I loved the experience that Mass Effect gave me. Amazing, seriously.

But then Mass Effect 2 came... which was... well.. fine I guess. ME2 had some plot-holes and the story was not too interesting, but I still loved the Mass Effect universe even after ME2.

But now with Mass Effect 3... I just... how could BioWare ever let this happen? Well, I think I already know the answer to that:

Mass Effect's lead writer: Drew Karpyshyn

Mass Effect 2's lead writer: Mac Walters

Mass Effect 3's lead writer: Mac Walters

^
I think that small list explains everything.

I liked ME2 more than ME because of companions. Jack is my favorite female side-character of all time. :)
