Actually Homefront was financial success. They sold almost 3M copies and it did cost them pennies.

I read they spent over $300 million on marketing for that game so if that's true there's no way that 3 million paid everything off.

I couldn't find your info about 300$M (my bet is that it was some BS), but THQ said that they need to sell 2M of copies to break even.

"He also revealed that upcoming first-person shooter Homefront - along with the majority of new owned IP - will need to sell over 2 million units for it to break-even."

Well, then we need to make our own game developing company, with blackjack and hookers.

You're right, though- there's no helping it if these mega devs decide to force something on players. I was a little quick to dole out the blame, but it's entirely possible that a majority of players don't like these tactics.

Ah so now we see the beating heart of their artistic integrity, and surprise, surprise it's green as greed.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

With respect to them, they didn't actually create the whole artistic integrity point, that was the gaming press.

Also apparently the IT crowd believes that having every bit of DLC for ME3 when it is all finished and purchased by yourself will unlock a conventional ending for refuse with the Catalyst. No I am not shitting you.

That's largely the Puzzle theorist loons that buy that Costin with some overlap with the ITers.

Oh all right then. Thanks for that. Don't remember which website I saw that number from anyway. I just remember that game being marketed to the moon and back.

That's actually the Puzzle Theory. They believe that buying all DLC will turn Refuse into a conventional victory ending, where everyone wins, Shepard lives and is reunited with his waifu.

Although it would be a deviously smart idea for BioWare to do exactly that (would encourage a lot of sad fans to buy all the ME3 DLC), I don't think it's gonna happen.

Sounds like Shepard isn't the only victim of indoctrination, then.

I actually for the longest time thought the Puzzle Theory was some kind of joke (like a spoof of the IT) but then I found out it was serious. >_<
