Yea their PR and marketing in general is horrible, and this is amplified with Bioware whose own employees also face that problem.

They manage to piss a lot of people off almost every time they open their mouthes.

There was an interview with the BW "doctors" the other day. They didn't say it directly, but it seemed to me they were getting increasingly fed up after EA bought them. Lost the passion, as they said. ›››

And you think the Doctors would EVER admit that EA fired them?

Because I can tell you for a fact that is exactly what happened and don't cry for them because the awesome direction DA2 took was because of them, the rushed job of ME3 ( which even so still is to blame on Hudson and Walters a lot more ) was because of them.

When Aaron Flynn decided they didn't have enough time to finish ME3 he went directly to EA because the doctors didn't give a damn, and you know what happened?

EA gave them an extension.

Doubt they were fired (but of course a possibility), but I certainly know you don't "know that for a fact".

Doesn't matter much what happened. Bioware went to shit with ME and beyond, and EA just worsened the decline. Both companies are steering that ship off into the abyss with enthusiasm.

Because it would be impossible that I would actually know someone inside Bioware who would have such information right? Of course it's not public because the doctors would never admit that they were fired by EA ( especially when EA gave them a ton of cash ) due to their failures instead blaming the fans as being the reason behind them "leaving".

As for EA, considering people are already blaming them for this them stoking the flames would be madness on a PR front even for them.

EA was the party who asked for for the release dates of DA2 and ME3, but the doctors did have the power to push those release dates further along and they didn't when employees asked for that and instead told people to STFU and keep working.

Also people in Bioware are being overworked to death.

The only reason I have any hope at all for DA3 or ME4 ( or whatever bloody name they'll come up with ), even if it's a glimmer a hope, is that EA has gotten rid of them. Good riddance I say.

I'm only looking forward to ME4 because of multiplayer and even then I wouldn't get it at full price.

DA3 on the other hand...., that shit franchise is more dead than ME to me and that's something.

Maybe you know people there or not, I couldn't possibly tell.

ME4... It has a very Douglas Adams ring to it. Game 4 of the Trilogy.

As for the Mass Effect universe, it died with ME2 for me. I'm soooooooooo glad I had the sense to not buy into the hype of ME3. Money well saved. Both on ME3 and DA2.

True story.
A friend who is a senior VP in a large defence-related company.
Company gets taken over.
After almost a year, the new overlords tell her she's surplus to requirements, and give her two options:
1. A large golden handshake, in return for a friendly "resignation" and a contractual promise not to badmouth the company in public, and not to work in a similar field after leaving.
2. Getting fired with the absolute minimum payout possible (which would have probably been zero).

Three months later, she was busy telling EVERYONE how much she had always wanted to be selling jacuzzis.

That Biodoc interview really, really reminded me of her.

Jump onto the bouncy cushion or be pushed without, either way you're going over the fucking cliff. Sounds all too believable.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

I am not sure who wouldn't come to that same conclusion after having a friend like yours. I mean they outright state in the interview that they decided to "leave" in spring of 2012.

I mean if it was just one of them leaving or if they both left but at different times then yeah sure I'd be willing believe it, but this?

Guess what came out in spring. You guessed it: Mass Effect 3 and it's GLORIOUS 3.0 metacritic user score.

I think TORtanic is what did them in not ME3(which certainly didn't help).

Especially since TOR was a project they were personally involved in, with ME3 it was Hudson and Walters.

However I do believe ME3 was the final nail that made EA get rid of them, though they would have done it anyway at one point or another.

I wonder why they haven't sacked Walters and Chud? They created an utter PR disaster with the ME3 endings and caused EA to burn resources on a FREE DLC that required getting all those voice actors back.

And yet another shot in the foot for EA.
"We struggled with two challenges: the slowdown that impacted the entire sector and poor critical and commercial reception for Medal of Honor Warfighter. Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers. Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved."

The corporate asshats at EA are starting to crack me up.

You would have to ask the guys in charge of EA about that but I think the most likely reason is that while Hudson and Walters did fuck up with the ending of ME3 ( though the chances of EA realizing the true problems of ME3 are very slim ) as an overall game it was well received by the critics and by quite a lot of users who did like the overall game except the ending. Also since it was the first fuckup by both Walters and Hudson in EA's eyes and considering the great success of ME2 they got away with it for now.

As bad as it was for EA to spend the money on the voice actors and the Free DLC overall it cannot compare to massive losses they suffered because of TOR.

Well, whatever the reason, it's clearly not their fault.

Personally, I blame the parents for raising a generation of senior management who can't accept responsibility for their own problems. Or maybe it was their kindergarten teachers?

Check this out guys.

http://blog.bioware....-dlc-announced/

" reconnect with your favorite characters from the Mass Effect Trilogy, try your luck at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino, blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena, or explore and furnish Shepard’s own living quarters on the Citadel. With unique content and cinematics featuring your friends and romance interests in the Mass Effect trilogy, Mass Effect 3: Citadel offers one final chance to see the characters you have known for years and rekindle romances."

seems like dating sim dlc to me.

I'm that guy who won that t-shirt.

Well since quite a large outcry from people (well at least in the forums) has to do with them not being able to rekindle with their LIs, so this DLC doesn't really surprise that such an option exists.

Good for them, then.
