Do you know it? well I didn't, just discovered today when searching some references.

Clicky---> http://www.wikipaintings.org/

This is a fantastic resource for fine arts, founded on December 2011. You can find many artists and paintings of different hera, from Middle Ages to 20th Cent. It features a slideshow, and you can even download an image at different size and resolution. Of course, some pictures have decent quality and some are pretty bad. But at least we can have an handy place well to find some reference you need, in case you want to study fine arts, create your own artworks, or just exercise yourself learning from the masters.

There's also a page on FB --> https://www.facebook.com/wikipaintings and twitter --> http://twitter.com/#...!/wikipaintings

Like in other Wiki projects, everything go in respect of copyright license. So unless you wanna claim that you are the author of the "Sistina Chapel", there shouldn't be any problem in download those images and made a wise use of them.

Well, I know it has nothing to do with The Witcher directly, but I post this here, in this section, coz I think it's always useful for artists and users having such a resource, which is pretty rare on internet. And do not forget that CDP artists also learnt fine arts from the masters, like we all did :)

So enjoy! :ice:

Great find SC, thanks!
As the flames licked the wood I looked into her bright eyes, yet I could see no fear in them, only peace.

That's a great resource, indeed :)

There's also art renewal that hosts very high-quality scans of various paintings, but you need to register (free) to view them. Has loads of Bouguereau, Mucha and Moreau (my faaave!), yay. http://www.artrenewal.org/

Without context, I would have guessed that's all French food. :rofl:
Not the greatest master of art knowledge, admittedly. :(

Thanks for both of the links. Might come in handy, sometime. :)

I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.

@Petra
Yes absolutly! It is born only 3 months ago and having already such a feedback! You don't even know how precious is a resource like those two posted by me and Dona. No more google research for images, yay!

So, so true! I can post more websites that could be useful for referencing/improving your drawing that I picked up from conceptart.org ages ago; I don't have them in my bookmarks atm but they should be in my Xmarks history. You should make a sticky topic with resources neatly organised.

for me the best part of art school was the countless hours I spent at the library just looking at art books. This website is awesome, great find. thanks for posting!

I uploaded an album of various art tutorials that I think pretty good, both traditional and digital. I hope someone finds them at least a bit useful :) - http://minus.com/m1d6Q07tA/1g

You're welcome Posted Image I've been collecting a lot of tutorials over the years and I finally got around to deleting some reaaaally crappy ones. And good ones need to be shared! For the glory of Witcher artists!
