Introduction:

hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum, and I registered today because I had to do it: I want to thank everyone who made this game, because it was an amazing experience.
Really amazing. I'm looking forward for The witcher 3.

Feelings about the game's installation :
I was borrowed the first game by a friend.
When I installed the witcher 1 and the witcher 2 I was really astonished by the fact that this game doesn't have a protection. This is something I didn't see for long. I saw this game patching itself to guarantee me a worth experience. This felt to me really strange, because it was to me a new experience.
There isn't a troublesome protection ( and you are able to see many these days...did someone talk about an hooded assassin?), and so if you buy this game original you won't get technical problems regarding the protection.

Speechless.

The witcher 1:

The witcher 1 was great. I will have to play it once again soon, because I choose the order path and I didn't act as a true witcher (how can you be a true witcher if you aren't neutral?)
It was a really rewarding experience. I especially enjoyed the fiabesque theme that permeated the cutscene: everytime it seemed to me that everything Geralt did , had a why, with reasonings that seemed to truly belong both to the player and the witcher himself.
When you listened to the cutscene, you would identify yourself into Geralt and his thoughts\behaviour.
Also it had some cute twist plots (the renegade witcher, the lycan) and the ending...well I had spoiled it to myself, can't remember if voluntarily or not, but I do know that I couldn't afford not knowing it, even if it I was in the middle of the game. The story captured me so much.
I also really enjoyed the combat system, it was cute. I read into this forum that some people couldn't stand it but I must admit that I enjoyed most this combat system than the one that I founded into the witcher 2.
What else? The cute humour Geralts got. Especially in the ending, when he fights against the witch hunt :)

And the ending cinematic?
I consider myself lucky that I played this game when the witcher 2 was reaching the markets! :)

Overall I would assign a 9\10 to this game.

The witcher 2

I must admit that as soon as I clicked "new game" my feelings, after moving Geralt a bit around, were not good about this game. I was kinda stunned at begin by how the game started: it was such a big jump to the 3d graphic.
Also I didn't enjoy much the combat system, it seemed to me that it had no depht, it was timed, yes,but it felt too much arcade at begin..

Well my feelings seemed to be wrong while playing this game.
While starting to play the witcher 2,these points I wrought earlier seemed to me irreparable; but as soon as the flow of the game established itself I realized that in this game some things are different from the first, but not for this reason these aren't well-done.

I must admit that the story was good, the game itself is good, though I dont't understand why you left behind the fiabesque theme of the flashbacks... they seemed a little awkward...

The ending was great. The fact that you could made Letho go is something that I think not many developers would have thought about.

Vote: 8\10 ( I don't wish to assign a 9 , because I founded that some things were troublesome , for example the arrow for the catacomb on the succubus quest... I didn't realise that there was another part of the village that I dind't explore, my fault, but it seemed not clear by the map! I wandered on the mist more than once because I thought the catacombs were over there..! Also the kayran fight...)

Bugs that I experienced:

on the kayran's fight I had a strange bug. Right after cutting the tentacles and the cutscene starting where Geralts gets caught by the tentacle, Geralts itself couldn't move anymore. he was stuck. And sometimes it would move, but after a bit he would be stuck again. [Patch 2.0]

Second (Really weird) bug: while I was in the village in chapter 2 [Iorveth path] I had to clear the mines from demons\necromorphs.
I don't know if you experienced it , but here is the bug:

sometimes when you are assisted by companions, and there are hostile monster in front of you, But there is a door between you\the companions and the monsters YOU GOTTA MOVE FAST through the door, or the game would go crazy and you can't go through the door because there will be an invisible wall.

Final impressions:

I wish to buy both this games.

I wish to ask:

-is there an edition that contains both?
-is there an edition that is already patched? (this would be really awesome). If there isn't are you planning to release one?
-I'm willing to buy special editions of this game. I wonder: did you make more than one special edition? I saw that for example the witcher 2 has an enhanced but also a dark edition. Is there a page with all the differences?

Thanks for help. And thanks for this game. And thanks for reading this huge wall of text.

As far as i know there isn`t anyplace that you can both bundled . But you can get both games from the same place . Both come with additional stuff that may make it worth your while . If you buy witcher 2 then you get the enhanced edition for Witcher 2 for free as a download on April 17th . Witcher 2 Dark Edition is for Xbox 360 only .

eh is english your first language? he clearly said he borrowed from a friend
'borrowing' does not account for piracy as far it goes, unless I copy and mass sell/re-distribute it...

His post looked different before, so please keep calm ;).

And piracy is not only mass sell/redistribute but also getting it via torrents etc. But yes, borrowing is not piracy.
If you see a grammar mistake in my post, then I don't mind if you send me a notice about it via PM. I always want to improve my English grammar.

I agree with this. The flashback artwork in the first game was awesome - I've just replayed, and was busy taking screenshots for posters in all of them. I don't like the ones in the second game much. Geralt is too ugly.

I haven't seen references to the particular bugs you encounter, but screen freezes can happen at times.

There doesn't seem to be any retail source at the moment that's fully-patched. Blame CDPR for keeping adding stuff :) There has been the occasional bundled sale, so if you're OK with digital, you should watch out at either Steam or GoG. (GoG is a better place to buy, generally). Amazon also has frequently has some good sales, but there are country restrictions there, so it may not be feasible.

oh in that case fine. No I was not being harsh just stating what I felt was right.
torrents, peer to peer... most of the internet traffic comes form there (facebook+youtube combined is much less compared)
we are talking serious shit here folks.
Whatever piracy talks not encouraged here, don't give a shit what others do. Just but the game totally worrh it that is all for the OP to know

You can find retail versions of The Witcher 2 already patched to 2.0 (only 1 patch left after that). I got mine from zavvi when they were low on stock. Now i see their status is: Usually dispatched within a month . Amazon uk also sells it.

Or you can wait for the ehanced version (new content to download) to launch in april and buy it then at normal full price.
