Well I'm supposed to do the salamanders's tail quest and show the ring to those 3 people....the thing is I don't have the ring...I think I had too much stuff in my inventory to get it from that one guy. WHat do I do now? Do I have to restart my entire game or is there some other way around this!? Plz help asap and thanks

Talk to the Reverend, he gives you the ring. Even if you don't have the ring you still should be able to complete those missions using bribes and other stuff.

That's weird...

There is another way of getting it though, you have to talk to an old woman in the Outskirts, she says something about her dying grandson so it should be fairly easy to identify her, she asks you for a White Gull potion to save her grandson, and in exchange she gives you the ring.

Do you try to leave some items at the inn, and than talk another time to reverend? If he doesn't give you the ring, there is an old woman that can give you this item, if you give her a White Gull. However, if I remember well, you can simply corrupt Haren Brog and Mikul or drink with Odo.. Sorry for my english..

take that to the depths of forever,
and you still will barely have a glimpse
of what I'm talking about"

Another possibility is that you can use the Saved Game Editor to give yourself the ring. If you have trouble figuring the Saved Game Editor out, upload your game somewhere, give me the URL, and I'll do it for you.

Ok I bribed two of the guys. But Oda the 3rd man needs me to drink with him...I try drinking with him and all he says is enough...what do I do? DO I need a more potent drink or something? Thanks

You guessed right. Odo is a serious drunk, so beer won't work and neither will wine; only strong alcohol will work. You need at least three bottles of strong alcohol. Once he's warmed up, then you can say, "The Reverend sent me to help you," just as usual.

You'll be VERY drunk once you've finished talking with Odo, so you might want to have a Wives' Tears potion on hand. ;)

Strong alcohol is any of the following:

Local Pepper Vodka
Nilfgaardian Lemon
Redanian Herbal
Soldier's Hooch
Temerian Rye
Cherry Spirit Cordial
Dwarven Spirit
Plum Cordial
Temerian Spirit
Zerrikanian spirit

There are a few other things that are also considered strong alcohol -- such as Alcohest and White Gull -- but those are best used as potion bases, rather than for drinking.

Isn't that ring a Quest item? Quest items always go into your inventory, namely the quest item inventory. Also, it's been a while since I played TW1, but does the ring not have to be on your finger, before you can show it to people during a conversation? So before the option of the showing the ring shows up, you first need to put it on your finger; just having it in your inventory isn't enough IIRC.

Quest items can't be removed from your quest inventory, and as you say, the ring has to go on your finger. That's why although it's a quest item in one sense, it isn't treated as a normal quest item and doesn't go to that special quest inventory place.

People have come here before complaining that their inventories were full, so they couldn't accept the Reverend's ring, and it fell to the ground. It IS possible to pick things up from the ground. Just move a step away, drop something unnecessary -- to make a space in your inventory -- then move back to where you dropped the item. Your cursor will change to a hand Posted Image when it's over an item you can pick up from the ground.

(I know the original poster doesn't need this information anymore, but I leave it here for people who search for answers to this problem in the future.)
