Stupid suggestion perhaps, but the roof is not caving in and landing of both of you, and killing you both?

Hello everyone,

I seem to have the same bug. I've tried the runthrough several times, and no matter how far I run into the safe corridor, after the ceiling drops, the queen dies and Geralt says "Now find a way out" (or something similiar), I suddenly and without reason drop dead.

This is my first playthrough and I really love the game so far and am anxious to find out how it goes on, so my question as well: is there any kind soul who would maybe try and finish this for me? I can zip my save (directly after the drop into the Kikimore lair) and upload it anywhere you'd like.

Just fyi, I'm playing the Enhanced Edition downloaded through Steam.

Thanks a lot for any help!

Sure, you may send it to me (max.strauss@web.de), but you must give me your email-address to send it back.

The first thing is to take the Blizzard Potion and perhaps Swallow. Remember to use pause if you need to. In the corridor, go past the first set of supports (ignore them) and Ard the second set of supports. The Queen will now be much slowed down. You will have time to get through the corridor and into the main cavern. If you have time, loot the corpse off to the left just past the second set of supports. If you can't, don't worry. Fight your way through the workers but don't try to defeat all of them. Just fight the ones you have to, Igni to clear a path and get to the main room. Across the room, off to the right there will be a blocked exit tunnel. When you get there, turn around and Ard the last support you pass as you arrive at the exit tunnel. The ceiling will not cave in until the Queen gets there. Go back a safe distance so you don't get crushed. After the Queen dies, loot her corpse and the tunnel behind you will open up. Be sure to loot the chest(s) on the way out as well.

I was ready to quit The Witcher because I was so frustrated with the Act III boss (The Kikimore Queen), but gave the Blizzard approach a try and succeeded. I was not able to loot the corpse, but so what, I'll try that later. This boss character is harder than Duriel in Diablo II, but you should be able to kill her within a few tries. I tried MANY times but succeeded the first time I tried using the Blizzard potion.

Check out YouTube if you want to see different methods of killing the Kikimore Queen.
Be well.

I'm hijacking this thread since I seem to be suffering from the same issue.

It's the first time I'm playing the game and I've collapsed the ceiling of the main cave at least 50 times. I've tried different timing, collapsing the ceiling as fast as possible and collapsing it when the queen is right up in my face and everything in between. I've tried standing in about every imaginable spot when collapsing the cave. But the end result is always the same, after the cave has collapsed and killed the kikimores Geralt says something about finding a way out and then drops dead for no apparent reason.

I would be really greatful if someone could help me out. Is there a patch or something that needs to be installed or do I have to rely on some kind soul having pity on me and volunteering to play the episode for me?

If it's the latter here is the link to my save uploaded to Rapidshare.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Actually it seems I figured out what the problem might have been. Tried it a few more times, my toxicity level was quite high, so the last time I used White Honey before trying. And hey presto! Geralt actually didn't drop dead this time.

Needs a move to the "Plot and Quests" forum.

If you can't manage it: Upload your zipped save, I can do it for you. But I need an email-address to send it back.

Don't worry that you needed 15 tries to conquer the Kikimore Queen, I also had several tries. For me it was the hardest part of the game. And I still was very tensed when I got there on the next playthrough.
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

Congratulations!

Yes, getting the right support beam makes a huge difference. ;)
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

I am at the end of the 3rd ch and am being pursued by the queen. I turn and ard the first arch and keep running. I run right into a large group of smaller ones while the queen jumps over the first collapsed archway. I can't run forward and there are too many spiders in front of me to go any further forward. Then I get trapped with the queen to my rear and I keep dying. What am I doing wrong?

Can you jump through them? If you pause there, they all run to the entrance of that next big cave, and you will have hard time getting through. So may be try running past them as soon as you enter the area.

You have only to flee, no need of Queen.. only flee and crush the pillars with aard
"Now multiply that by infinity,
take that to the depths of forever,
and you still will barely have a glimpse
of what I'm talking about"

You are seeing it correctly: you have to get through that swarm of workers before the queen catches up to you. Anything that knocks them back is valuable, especially Aard, but watch that you do not hit a pillar too soon. It is easier if you get there quickly, before the swarm has built up.
