To be honest, I can't recall too many games with over the shoulder third person view that had a FOV slider. Or any other form of FOV adjustment.
I agree, Witcher did stand out in that aspect.
And The Darkness II example - isn't this game FPS? If so, how is this example relevant to the Witcher? FPS usually have FOV settings so I can understand that players demanded it in this case. ›››
Exactly, if FPS's shoud have/have an FOV option, isnt it more resonable to have one in an RPG, where the environment is a core part of the game? I understand what youre saying but FPS's are mostly linear and will never rival the massive worlds of RPG's which encourage you to explore the world. Thus an FOV option or SOMETHING of that nature would be very useful in the Witcher 2.
I just used the Darkness ll as an example. One recent RPG that doesnt support FOV change is Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning, but the FOV can be altered with WideScreen Fixer. Unfortunately this doesnt work for the Witcher 2.
Note: The devs for KOA:R are going to release a patch to fix the FOV and some Camera issues.
