I am at the point of bfreaking out of prison which requires that I fight the guard. I apparently have to do it QTE style. Unfortunately I don't know what QTE style is. Any help would be appreciated.

Press the appropriate button that matches the prompt flashing on the screen. It will be either W, A, S, or D.

QTE is Quick Time Event in which letters will pop up on your screen indicating which letters you need to press rather quickly . They will popup just like the position on the keyboard
-W-
-A-D-
-S-

At its most basic, QTE means you get a prompt on the screen, then within a short time of the prompt appearing, you must make the gesture indicated by the prompt.

In fistfighting, the QTEs consist of a prompt to hit one of the direction keys (W, A, S, or D, or whatever you remapped them to). You must hit the corresponding direction key.

Fistfighting also has double QTEs. You get a second prompt just after the first (another direction key; for example, you get "S" followed by "A"). You must hit the direction keys in that order.

@OP
Can't you see the letter on your screen? They don't appear?

There's also one tricky thing about QTE in witcher. When the button flashes you're supposed to press it once not to mash it (which is contrary to most of the games).

If they have QTEs in Witcher3, I will not buy it. The QTE fist fighting and the inability to save right before it ruins the entire flow of the game. I am old and my reflexes are slow. I have been playing RPGs since Wizardry 1 and they are the biggest pain in the butt I have ever run into.

They've already said publicly, no QTE's, so you should be OK :)

(And hey, Wizardry 1 was my first too!)
