Triss or Yennefer? (possible Spoiler)

I didn't start to read "Baptism of Fire" yet (but I've read "The Last Wish" and the next two books), but I find Yennefer a bit annoying sometimes. I really have the feeling that Geralt loves Yennefer much more than Yennefer loves Geralt... And I feel like it's pretty much the opposite with Triss.
So if I have to choose in TW3, I would go for Triss (and I find her much nicer than Yennefer that can really be a bitch sometimes). ›››

Hmmm...... it is more complicate than this. Yennefer is... yes she is bitchy, but she is a kind of a woman. But it doesn't mean that she is not love with me. Anyway, there is just one short story, recounting their first meeting, in the Last Wish, you should read the rest of the books to understand more.
And in the end, in the very very end, you understand how deep is her love

That depends...
If you just play the game, it is easy choice - Yen is just mentioned there and one naked picture in flashback can't competite with Triss scenes
(just kidding). But Yennefer is Geralt's destiny (if you read end of the story, you know what is between them - no one could be more for him and closer to him). Read the book.. There is no doubt about it. Book is on same (or higher) level with game story, so I take it into decision.
But I don't want this kind of choice - searching for Yen is meaning of whole game, so if you don't choose her, you'll be idiot. If you don't choose somebody who trusted you and who you trusted to, who healed and helped you, you will be the same idiot. So if developers give same question in game, they are idiots.
(Hope this will not end with rescue of Yennefer, hope there will be more parts with Ciri, etc..)

Before I read the books I figured I'd stick with the girl I knew which is Triss sense the game doesn't have DVD movie with it to sum up TW1, Yen and Gearalt's relationship, Ciri + Yen + Gearalt's life, and the politics of the world during 1 maybe even allow us to select choices during it like help fraction A or B save person A or B get the brand new console players up to speed. W/o the books I was like this is my characters girlfriend and she keeps asking me about an ex-lover or am I cheating on her? It was confusing. So choosing Triss was the natural thing.
Now after reading a horde of the translated books and even with that I'm unsure if I'm getting all the context needed but he loves Yen when I think of Gearalt and Yen he's like a beaten dog he keeps getting hurt and not just comming back but he can't leave her either. I'm not sure if its cute or sad she has a few moments were she does care for him deeply but then its back to calling him a moronic witcher so... I really hope in 3 they spend serious ingame out of cutscene monologue time on this so when I meet her I can decide who is he picking because after books its split between them both. The trust issues with both women are now quite lacking where Garalt should be concerned.

On my first playthrough I hadn't read the books so I stuck with Triss as she was the default girlfriend. However, having now since read all but the Lady of the Lake it seems to be that without a doubt Geralt would chose Yennefer over Triss. I say this because we know at some stage before the 1st Nifgard war that Geralt after falling out with Yennefer on one occasion slept with Triss who was infatuated with him. When is event occurs isn't ever exactly stated, but Geralt and Yennefer had split up for over a year when they then met at a fertility festival for one night during which she suggests that he should go to Cintra to claim Ciri. As it turns out he gets South Yarauda, but then returns to Temeria after Danelion tells him Cintra and its royal family are no more. Well about this time he meets the Merchant Yarga and travels with him to Upper Sodden where he visits the memorial to those scoresses and Mages fallen in the battle of Sodden Hill.
Well long story short despite that at this time that Geralt had previously slept with Triss he read her name on the list of dead and really didn't show too much attention to her other than that he liked her and the feeling was mutual. At this same time he is terrified that the last name on the list of dead might be Yennefer to the point where he almost doesn't want to know if her name is written on it or not.
Also in the Last Wist stories when he wakes up in the temple of Melite next to Lola he regrets to himself that she isn't Yennefer so he is clearly head over heels for Yennefer no matter what. Since his memory is largely returned by the end of TW2 he will clearly remember these feelings.
As the games go we will have to see how they show Yennefer, and if she is like the character of the books. Since romancing Triss properly in them is optional I would deffinately have to chose Yennefer for Geralt every time. I do hope that we get the choice, but although Triss would probably be better for Geralt he clearly has to much history with Yennefer.
Rant over - Gotta be Yen for me.

I think that the only reason that Yennefer won't be one of the options is because you only can choose one character that you meet through the game (TW1/2), but Yennefer is only named, not met.

I didn't read any books related to Witcher. So I don't know much about Yennefer and her characteristics. ›››
Then you'll get all you need to know when Witcher 3 comes.
Oooor
You can take a look at our Community Fan translations, especially reading:
-The Last Wish short story
-A Shard of Ice short story
-The Limits of Possibility (or The Bounds of Reason) short story
Those three tales will give a quick and general sketch of who Yennefer is.

For me, it is going to be "rather Yennefer, but not adamant about it". If there is good enough reason for Geralt to give up on Yen, I can go along with it.
However, I really, really hope, that there is not going to be the "both girls are in a grave danger, you must choose which one to save" kind of choice.
Damsel in distress choice was already in the TW2, it worked nice, but repeating it in the TW3 would be lame.

I still think Triss deserves more agency in the matter--she's a strong character in her own right (even with all her insecurities), and she's Yennefer's friend as well as Geralt's. Why should it all come down to Geralt's choice? I'd much rather have the characters resolve it between themselves with the player's actions determining the nuances of the situation rather than the outcome in its simplest terms.

I'm all for Yennifer.
One thing I hope is that Geralt wont find Yennifer at the end, but rather somewhere in the middle or beginning. It would actually give the player some time and opportunity to develop a relationship(good or bad) with her and for people not familiar with the stories to really get to know her.

According to the end in the witcher 2, Geralt part in search of Yennefer in company of Triss. Probably in the witcher 3 will find her, but what will happen if you have to choose beetween Triss and Yennefer. Which of her will you choose and consider a good companion for Geralt? ›››
I was going to answer when I read this...

Triss' devious?!
Wait till you meet Yen, I hope CDPR will portray Yen as she was portrayed in the books. Devious and malicious, but with some love and affection for Geralt. ›››
...which made me think that if this is true (as I haven't read any of the books yet), then I prefer taking Zoltan and Dandellion to the nearest Inn, get drunk and visit the first brothel we find on our way home.

Obviosly, we'll have to choose between Triss and Yen - it's already game's style. Further more I'm sure it will like Geralt save one, and another die (no chances to save both, or maybe sucrifise himself to save both).
But I found my path. Since w1 to w2 my Geralt loyal only to Triss, refusing any other affairs. I keeped my w1'saves to play w2 and I'll keep w2'saves to play w3. I only want saves to have influence on Triss's line in w3.
It's pretty line:
w1
- choose to help Triss and sex scene with Triss in prolog
- choose Triss to keep Alvin
- ring as gift to prove feelings to Triss and sex scene
- letter's confession to Triss
- personal confession Triss in Foltest castle
- Tell Foltest about love to Triss
- Adda lives (Foltest loayl to geralt's friends(including Triss))
- neutral end(Triss Foltest's counselor)
- no cheats to Triss wiwh any girls (Shani, Adda and e.t.c)
+
w2
- encourage Triss in prologue
- confession with rose and bath scene
- Yorvet's path in chapter 2 (witcher prefer search Triss instead Leto)
- tell Niflgaard's captain about love to Triss
- rescue Triss from Nilfgaard's camp and don't blame in anything
- Cyntia and her helper in chapter 3 were killed in moment without journey to dungeon
- no cheats with any girls
So here we go. Triss is safe. Her magical community remade. She knows tha Geralt loves her. She is not hunted by kings (The know she is not guilty).
Yet still in dialogue with Dandelion Geralt had doubts about Triss and Yen, but it was before chapter 3.
But if after import this saves I won't have opportunity to choose Triss in w3, it will be ridiculous
