Triss or Yennefer? (possible Spoiler)

03.11.2011 @ 19:48 #1

According to the end in the witcher 2, Geralt part in search of Yennefer in company of Triss. Probably in the witcher 3 will find her, but what will happen if you have to choose beetween Triss and Yennefer. Which of her will you choose and consider a good companion for Geralt?

I want Geralt to stay with Triss considering how much they have been through together those 2 deserve each other

Tough choice indeed.
My personal preference is Triss, no doubt about that. But it will also depend on a stage of both Geralt´s and Yennefer´s memory. Because to be honest, if I considered the Geralt from the books, I´d have to choose Yennefer in the end, even if I´d been through a lot with Triss.

Thankfully, it´s a RPG, so if this choice appears, I´ll choose Triss. Because I think she´d make a better companion to Geralt that Yen in any aspect of life.

It's simple: If you haven't read the books than you should pick Triss, if you have...Yen. Why? Well, if you don't know stories from the books( The Las Wish, The Sword of Destiny, Blood of Elves and Times of Contempt - these are the translated one so far) you cannot know how cool couple Geralt and Yen are. If you have read the books than...you know it all. I'm 100% sure that Geralt from the books would choose Yen and so will I.

Even if Gerald has loved or still loves Yen in the books [all of them are translated here in Germany], there was still a relationship (and love) between him and Triss (not as strong as love with Yen). So it would be great if the player could choose between them in Witcher 3 with major consequences (like in Witcher 1). And who knows what Yen is like when they finally meet in W3, maybe she doesn't love him anymore but Triss does...

Triss for sure, she is a much better person overall, even though Yennefer changed quite a bit after meeting Ciri.

Really depends on how they portray Yen in the game.

I believe this kind of choice will be there. In that way people familiar with the books will probably rather choose Yennefer, and rightfully, I must admit.
But if I had to make this decision based only on playing the games, I see a low chance of choosing Yennefer, though many players don´t like Triss and think she´s devious and never has been completely honest with Geralt. So another plus point for Yen, I guess...

But I´m with all my heart for Triss, even after reading books... the whole love of life realtionship of Geralt/ Yennefer was never my cup of tea.

Definitely, yet I´m afraid the question is not about who deserves him more because of anything they´ve done. So sorry, but I don´t see this as a rightful reason here, not to mention that Triss´s done it also, coutless times. (but now I´m mixing up the books with games)

Triss in a game is a very warm person and a loyal person we don't know much about Yennefer execpt that
so this is why i would most definitively choose Triss.

It's hard to know who Yennefer was before what happened to her...

Triss' devious?! :D Wait till you meet Yen, I hope CDPR will portray Yen as she was portrayed in the books. Devious and malicious, but with some love and affection for Geralt.

Well, I just meant that many other people see Triss as such. I don´t, read the books so I know what an angel Triss is comparing to Yennefer - for who even the word devious is hardly accurate :D

Oh, and BTW, here's a perfect picture of Yen, just like Sapkowski described her:

Yennefer, i'm a sucker for a bad girl, they can walk all over me in their high heels. Hmmmm.

They've really got to get the voice actress spot on though.
I have waited many years for the Incline to begin. False prophets I have followed and obscure lore perused, but always there has been nought but the bitter taste of disappointment at the end of my travails. Still I do not give up, I do not falter with weariness. Even if it should never come to pass I will still believe and search, for the Incline is beautiful and it SHOULD exist.
