Thanks.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

Thanks. This is my second time getting to this point. My drive actually crashed just before this point last time (otherwise I would have looked it up and learned about the bug ahead of time).

I couldn't look at your saved game because the file was corrupted. Try uploading the file again, and I'd suggest that you zip it first, so only the zipped file will have its name changed by the file hosting service, and the actual save file inside will not.

I've unpacked your saved game using the Save Game Editor, hacked the Vizima Confidential quest using Djinni, then repacked it again with the Save Game Editor. To make the new version of the quest work, there are a couple of additional files you'll need; I've put them in the Override folder.
To Install
Put the saved game in the usual save folder.
Put the Override folder in your The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data folder.
To use
Once all the files are in place, start up The Witcher and load the saved game I've given you. Then follow these steps:
1. Talk to Raymond, agree to pay him his 200 orens, and he'll tell you about the dead prisoner and suggest an autopsy.
2. You'll get a journal update that says that you don't need to do the autopsy because you already know who's guilty,
3. Talk to Raymond again, and tell him that you've done the autopsy. (This isn't a bug; Geralt is intentionally lying.)
4. Raymond will say he needs some time to think about things, so exit Raymond's house.
5. Go back into Raymond's house and talk to him again. Things should proceed normally from there.
I spent several hours making this for you, so send flowers or something.
Please note that this fix is for a particular person's saved game; it won't work with any other saved games, because it depends on the changed version of the quest that's inside this saved game. Putting quests in the Override folder does NOT work, since quest files are included as part of your saved game; the only way to change a quest once the game has started is to extract the quest file from the saved game, hack it with Djinni, then re-insert it into the saved game. So, if you aren't Saint Brado, the stuff in this Override folder will be completely useless; it only works with the hacked quest that I put into his saved game.

IT WORKED! Thanks a ton for fixing this, not sure I could have talked myself into playing it all over again.
If I knew where to send flowers I definitely would!
Thanks Again.

As Raymond did with SaintBrado, he doesn't say anything but "Yes", and I can't pay him or do anything in order to obtain his Sefira (except saying "see you" .... "A plus tard" in french.)
I already know that he's Arzad of course, found the body in the crypt, completed all the secondary "guilty" quests.
I got the other 9 sefiras and already put them ine the monoliths, the only one that remains in order to complete the chapter is Raymond's.
Here's my save file

Can someone help me ?
Thanks a lot !
EDIT : I found an old savefile without the bug and could obtain the Sefira.
Seems it's a bug that appears quite often, too bad for such a wonderful game.
Anyway, I've lost 5 hours of gameplay, but that's not so bad.

Glad to hear that you're able to continue on.
If you hadn't gone back to an earlier saved game, you wouldn't have been able to do the autopsy, and I think doing the autopsy is one of the coolest parts of Chapter 2, so I'm glad you haven't missed it after all.
When the boy comes and says that Raymond wants to talk to you, you need to go talk to Raymond THEN, not continue on and do other things. To the best of my knowledge, the bug only occurs when the player ignores this whopping clue that the game gives you about what to do next. Of course, they should have made it impossible to get stuck like this, but given how complicated the game is and how interwoven all the threads are in Chapter 2, getting it all to work together properly is very complicated. I'm not surprised that there's a buggy path through the game if the player ignores the obvious signs of what to do next.
Anyway, I'm glad you've gone back, I hope you enjoy the autopsy, and if you haven't yet reached the part where the boy comes for you, do follow him at once.

I'm having the same problem with Raymond. This is my save file:

Could you have a look at it? It would be very much appreciated.

We used to not know what caused the problem, so hacking saved files was the only way around it. But now we think we know what causes it.
At some point during Chapter 2, a little boy runs up to you and says that Raymond wants to talk to you. If you go talk to Raymond at that point, the chapter works great. If you DON'T go talk to Raymond then, there are a few things you can do that will put your game into an unwinnable state. If you find the body in the Cemetery BEFORE you go talk to Raymond after the boy summons you, then the chances are excellent that you've broken your game.
The solution is to go back to a saved game from right before the little boy comes to summon you to Raymond. Then go to Raymond right then. Don't finish any other quests before you talk to Raymond.
Chapter 2 is really, really complicated, and everything depends on everything else. It's a fairly delicate balance, so pay attention to the guidance the game gives you. If it says, "It's time to go talk to Raymond now," well, go talk to Raymond then!

Do you have a previous save that you can restore from? Something from late in Chapter 2 but before things break?
If not, upload your saved game somewhere, and I'll take a look at it.

Back when we didn't know what caused the problem, I used to hack people's saved games for them, which took a long time. I rarely do this anymore, because we discovered what was causing the bug, so now people can just restore from a previous save and then do something different, so that they don't get that bug anymore.
The key seems to be to go to Raymond's as soon as the little boy comes to you with a message asking you to meet Raymond. Don't finish up any quests, don't talk to anybody else, just follow the boy to Raymond's as soon as he comes for you.
Have fun!

Hi Corylea,
I've the same problem as anyone else. I can go back to a previous savegame, but the problem is I've been playing for a few hours since. I would rather not play everything again
Thank you so much

Well it looks like I'm having exactly the same problem...
The thing is that I save my game quite often, overwriting the previous ones...
So none of my saves could allow me to solve this issue.
So I would like to know if my save could be fixed. Here it is : Saved file
I know that it takes you a long time, but trust me when I say that I have no other choice...
Thanks in advance.

I can't download from the site you uploaded that to. You could try MediaFire; I've had good luck with them.
