Well I recently finished watching all the aired episodes of Breaking Bad, and I'm now looking for another series to follow. Tried to watch a couple of episodes of Flashpoint, but sadly it wasn't to my liking. I've been figuring following Downtown Abbey, since it has been quite widely talked about recently. Community seems also a show that some have suggested.

Any insight on these, or any ideas on other shows to watch?

I found Downtown Abbey quite boring, in fact. But that was probably just me. It did look gorgeus, but nothing that really impressed me. But don't take it as granted fro me. Never heard of the Community though.

Watching this Ken Follets "World without end" lately, it's a bit shit really.

Have watched all the aired Breaking Bad too. Tried to watch some of Community, but didn't quite like it. Good at parts, but didn't suck me in like great shows tend to do. Watched a couple episodes of The Rock (or something like that) too, but it wasn't up my alley AT ALL.

Unfortunately great shows are far and few between. Look forward to the next season of Game of Thrones though. Some great things to cover in that season as well. Hopefully they do the books justice.

I watch Downton Abbey. I like it, except the last episode pissed me off and I think it would have been best if the series ended by the 3rd season.

Waiting to watch the much talked Lincoln and Django Unchained.

As for tv currently on air watching Spartacus, Arrow, Person of Interest, Elementary, Justified, The Following, The Americans and Shameless.

Highly waiting for GoT, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy and Dexter.

Well I'll take a look into Downtown Abbey, and see for myself whether or not it is to my liking.

Okay anybody seen a british TV show called, "The Pillars of the World?" Well there's been a follow up on the goggle box here in Blighty lately called, "World Without End." I was just watching the final episode over me pizza and a few loud mouth soups, well i've got to say that it's shit, I mean it goes full Dragon Age 2 level of retard. Everything ends up turning out allright, everybody learns an important moral lesson and King Edward the Third of Windsor is revealed to be an awfully nice chap, with lovely modern helmet hair.

It's like a 180 degree spin from what makes the Witcher and Game of Thrones so great, that uncertainty that has us arguing about Stennis, Triss, Philippa and all the others who are not painted in such broad black and white brushstrokes. Avoid this crap like the plague.

Wasn't it "Pillars of the Earth"?
But thanks for the warning about the sequel. I enjoyed the original.

(And yes to SlimeDynamiteD - I like Arrow too)

Yep sorry earth, you might like this as well since they're very similar Dragonbird, but I really took a dislike the more I watched. Think it may be because I studied the time period fairly exhaustively and had a very different opinion built up around it.

Well, I'll give it a try. It's easy enough to stop watching if I don't enjoy it :)
But it's the type of story that SHOULD follow history, and I suspect I'll be equally pissed-off. Luckily though, I'm weak on Edward III so they may get away with it.

I've been watching this in terms of TV shows.

Compares to Game of Thrones in terms of complexity of characters where I'd say they are equal in a sense.

But in terms of production values, Epicness of battles, authentic ( I don't use the word realistic ) depictions of war, politics and slavery? Yeah it's beats the living crap out of everything Game of Thrones has to show off.

The fighting is ridiculous though, with superhuman gladiators and the blood is just laughably bad.

I'd watched the previous seasons, but I almost gave up during the first episode of the new season - it felt as though the story was just the continuity filler between the sex and violence episodes. I mean, it's always been over-the-top, but it seemed to be going too far this time. But it improved a lot once it got going, and I'm back to enjoying it again now. Not sure that I think it's better than GoT though, but we'll see when the new season of that starts.

The series must have helped speed up the game development though - they've already got all of the cinematics and finishers.

Recently started watching Doctor Who.

I started with the series starring the 10th Doctor and watched it all the way to the last episode with the 11th Doctor. I'm currently waiting for the next episode (still with the 11th Doctor) to air, which won't be aired until March!

I have to say, that Doctor Who is a lot better than I expected. I expected a cheap sci-fi series with typical British humor that no-one but the Brits themselves understand, but boy, was I wrong! Doctor Who's production value of the recent series is extremely high and it's a very exciting series to watch.

I love 'The Doctor' (the main character), both the David Tennant version and the Matt Smith version. They both portray 'The Doctor' very well. The Doctor's companions are also cool. So far, Amy Pond is my favorite, but I can't wait to see more of Clara Oswin Oswald. She seems like an amazing character too!

And did I already tell that Doctor Who has the most epic music ever? Check this out and hear for yourself:

PS: Anyone else recognizes some bits and pieces of the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack in the Doctor Who soundtrack? I do. Was Doctor Who's composer inspired by ME's composer, or was ME's composer inspired by Doctor Who's composer? Both series came out around the same time, so...

If I were you, I'd go back and watch the ninth, he was great. (9th and 10th doctors are the best. The 11th is good, but sadly the companions are crap and the story gets really crappy.
